The Great Room Clean-up

Mar 06, 2011 22:16

Our family will soon be moving out to make way for the renovation of our house this April. Because of this, my sister and I have started cleaning our room today. I know I have a lot of junk but it’s still amazing to see I’ve ended up getting rid of two garbage bags-worth of stuff, which also happen to make up several years worth of memories from grade school to college. I bet Clean House, the show I watch on the Lifestyle Network, would be very proud of this accomplishment.

Here are some of the things I’ve unearthed:

Based on that picture above, you’ll see the mess I’ve created while sorting through years worth of paper-based stuff. I also happened to have unearthed the diaries I used back in grade school. I couldn’t help but laugh while reading through the entries written by my 10-12-year old self. Did I really write like that back then? Haha! Status: Discarded

When I was in 6th grade (my final year in grade school), almost everyone in our batch had these dedication notebooks for messages from friends and classmates before we graduate. Status: Discarded

This is one of the papers I’ve written back in high school, plus, the Filipino story, Utos ng Hari by Jun Cruz Reyes, which we made into a film for our class project. I portrayed the Bio teacher in the story who is funnily called, Miss Spermatozoa. Status: Discarded

Readings, readings and more readings in college! Among these are my readings for the subject, Political Science 14. Status: Kept

Recollection letters I’ve gotten in high school as well as Christmas cards from online friends and cards and letters from my family. Status: Kept

And for the grand finale,

Tada! Two garbage bags-worth of discarded items! I am not done with the clean-up yet, however. I still have a lot more to discard but the continuation of the clean-up will be done next weekend as this one really left me exhausted already and left me no room to work on my report for tomorrow.
