I'm glad things ended somewhat well for them, even if they had some really rocky points.

So, do vampiric memory erasing powers not work on vampires, then? Because usually, the mirror defense results in the attack/power being turned back on the attacker/wielder.

That is definitely a darker path you guys took, but I congratulate you on going outside the norm with it, and having the male character be the victim of it. Is this the first time you've revealed what the terrible thing Anaryn did was? (RL prevented me from reading most of the demon invasion plot posts that occurred after a certain point, so if it was mentioned in game, I missed it...)

By the way, I'd like to make a suggestion - just in case, you might want to put a trigger warning at the top of this post. You can never tell when there there might be someone you know and care about who may have had to deal with terrible things at some point.

As for what happened with my character, Allanon took Matt and Kender off to a tropical island somewhere for a vacation because they all needed to get away, for various reasons, (heartbreak, burned out, chance to have romantic time alone on a quiet beach with someone,) and by the time they returned, it was all over.
There was some discussion at one point as to what their futures might be like, but that was in the context of DarkTan's Prohibition plot idea, and while a few posts were written, it never really took off.

Sorry, didn't successfully manage to post this as a reply to you. A little distracted.

- Anaryn's always claimed that the flashy thing didn't work on her or she would use it on herself to forget the holocaust.
- I *think* we've handled it acceptably for people who have had such things happen to them. (I have fortunately never been the victim of said crime, but I have relatives who have) but I'll leave it up to Neko how he'd like to handle in his journal - I have it marked as dealing with dark topics on my end.
- During the demon invasion it was never stated, but implied what had happened when Sareth asked.

I believe we left it heavily implied rather than explicitly stated, but told a few people OOC who were curious.

What's a trigger warning?

A trigger warning is where you put a statement at the top of a post, letting people know that said post contains things that may trigger flashbacks or severe emotions in someone who has been a victim of something that's in the post, like, for instance in this one, rape. Usually bolded to make sure it is seen.

It's very helpful to those who might otherwise stumble on a post like this and end up having flashbacks or an anxiety attack, because they weren't expecting to come across something that would remind them of the bad thing they experienced.

Hmm. Well I tried putting one in, but I'm not sure if it's going to help. The trigger warning must, by definition, mention what it is warning about, so you get a kind of recursive loop. Let me know if I did it wrong.

That's just fine. a commonly acceptable shortcut is also 'TW: Rape'

Oh, I wasn't saying it hadn't been handled well. The problem is, for some people, having to read about it at all can take you back there.

(I have, thankfully, never been there either, but due to other circumstances, even the most innocuous discussions of physical or emotional abuse can do nasty things to me at times, especially if I don't know ahead of time what I'm about to see, so trigger warnings really are a good thing, even when the material is handled in a cautious way.)
