summer midpoint

i am going to try to make this as lucid as i can because it is 3.30 and i am tired. first of all kevin jonas is engaged excuse me, i just do not know what this world is coming to. i mean he is the oldest but isn't he like 19 or something and just got engaged to a 22 year old (i read this in the hartford courant right) and just. he is so unattractive i cannot believe it.

i have given up on finding a job for this summer and do not even care because i would need to take too many days off to do all the things i want to do (berea, flying down to PA every now and then, fucked up show in a bit) and there are only two months left. it's great now because jared hasn't had a job since he's come back from tour and we have hung out almost every day and actually doing things like biking and hiking, in between thunderstorms. it's not perfect but its better than the first half. i hope there are more sunny days in the next two months (regardless of warmth) to take advantage of.

i can't remember everything from the first half of summer but it was not really that good. around the time when jared left, taylor came up from florida with michael and i got to meet him, which was rad. not as weird as i thought because i had talked to him a lot on the netz and on the phone a few times. hung out a good handful of days and sat at coffeeplaces and tried to get kittens but failed. also went to see UP which ruled, and went down to new haven. wish that i got to hang out with them more but they also had family to see and attend to so whatevz. good tiemz. hated driving on slater road of deth to pick them up cos it had SO MANY POTHOLES but i drove on it the other day to get to e.c goodwin for an interview and it was half paved/being paved. very pleasing.

the next week i went to bloomsburg to hang out with ellen for a week and meet all the people from the internetz. again, not really that weird, but a little weird to meet that many people because they actually become real. lots of sittin at walmart and lying in beds with cats. though we were supposed to go see postsecret at bloom u but we forgot and spent two days watching army wives and eating pasta instead. oh also i went to ellen's graduation and sat with jesse and her sister and it was very fake and made BHS look extremely real and qualified. it was weird. going back to bloom in a week or so, promises to be a good time.

lately it is just raining all of the goddamn time and its hard to figure out when the weather is good enough to do things outside and not have to sit inside all day and watch the rain fall. i think all the rain is caused by all the volcanic ash present in the atmosphere because a few volcanoes have been erupting. or so someone told me, maybe it was only one volcano, but i know that large amounts of volcano ash have a great effect on climate and precipitation. super lame.

also today i found out one of my friends from school isn't returning to uvm in the fall. he is taking a year off and probably transferring after that, needs time to sort his life out i guess. it sucks because i might not ever see him again. we weren't even that close but he was a great dude and it was nice to see him in the dining hallz and at shows and just around and stuff.

oh well. time to go read/not seep really even though i am extremely tired. i finished reading American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis the other day and i hated it. he is a good writer, he is very good at capturing what is he trying to capture but his style just makes me feel very stressed and angry. i know this because this is the 3rd book of his i have read, i'm not basing this off one title. (also read less than zero and the rules of attraction.) not pleased by him, will not be reading anymore because it will not be any different. i am also reading one hundred years of solitude which is pretty good but kind of boring to me sometimes, i think i am just not in the mood to read something of that type right now, but i am almost done and will read it again in a year or two maybe to try and absorb it better. those are the two "scholarly" books that i am reading/have read lately. i also borrowed the da vinci code from jared (lol) and got a copy of angels and demons from the enfield barnes & noble (biggest joke of all joke bookstores come on) and finished da vinci in like two days and only read angels once and read like 1/3 of it. very very fast to read. reading angels because it took me a long time to get through american psycho and 100yrs and i just like to not read denser (even though they were not very dense even) things all the time. probably why i enjoyed reading so much vonnegut last year. after i finish angels and demons i don't know what i am going to read. i wanted to re-read the lord of the rings but i don't think i have the time now, i'll re-read those when i have read all of my books. i will probably read A Handful of Dust by Evelyn Waugh (densetown) and at the same time start A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. I think it will be a good combination.

ok ok ok i have written way too much about books, more than anything else, so i am going to go to seepz now.
