...a pleasure cruise.
Actually not. Well, maybe if you lived here. At the moment I'm mooching the wireless internet in the hotel's lobby - there are adolscents everywhere. The place is even starting to smell hormonal. It's a sea of tight shirts, short skirts and tight jeans, and the blinding reflection of braces.
And one just hit me with a top hat. What??
So for those of you who don't know, I spent a good chunk of the end of last week and this weekend in NYC. I love it here. Well, only some of the city.
Times square is insanely packed with annoying pre-pubescents and asian tourists. The MTV studio store is a braces magnet - the only people above 15 in that store were the clerks and the security guard. At one point when I walked by, it was so packed that I'm not entirely sure anyone inside could move. I guess I can't complain. If I saw someone my age in there, I'd be even more upset.
These kids are making me want to binge drink.
I do however, love the Village. It's absolutley amazing. If I could live anywhere I've visited, I'd live there. My first stop was Washington Sq Park. That park is amazing. Semi-circling the west half of the park are chess tables and chairs. People just sit there all day and play chess. The chess pieces aren't even missing! They'd all be gone in Philly.
After my ciggarette, I went to Cafe Figgaro - the oldest coffeehouse in the city. It was established in 1927 - and in the sixties, William Burroughs and the like would muse there. More likely, Mr. Burroughs would shoot up and then go and get a coffee and start manically writing. I ordered a $4.00 green tea, which initially, I wasn't too pleased about. However, when it came, it was the coolest, ever. They give you your own ceramic teapot, teacup, saucer, spoon, tea strainer, and sugar bowl. The tea brews in the ceramic pot while you're waiting for it to cool - when it's to appropriate temperature, you place the tea strainer over your tea cup, pour and wha-la! The most amazing tea, ever.
I also got a $2.00 falafel sandwich. Mmmmm.
Earlier that day, I had purchased Rent tickets. (Yes folks, that is #4.) The show was amazing! After the show, I got my playbill signed by THE ENTIRE CAST. Yeah bitches, read 'em and weep. Roger also hugged me. Eeeeeee.
Anyway my hands are tired.
Peas.
PS: If you're way cool, I probably brought you back a present. That's like 4 people.
