Sungjong was always lonely at school. No one ever wanted to talk to him. Girls never went up to him cause they were jealous of his look and figure. Guys would make fun of him for his girlish antics. Throughout his whole life, he only had one friend, but he passed away 2 years ago. His name was Lee Howon.
- flashback -
Sungjong and Howon , or Hoya , as Sungjong gave him the nickname , have been best friends since grade school. They would do everything together. Eat, do homework, play on the playground, everything. Sungjong always wondered how he got a friend as great as him. He never bothered to ask though.
Sungjong started developing feelings for Hoya. He didn't understand why, since it was at such a young age. But, he never told Hoya about it. He was just happy that they were friends.
One day, Hoya and Sungjong were hanging out at the nearby park. Sungjong thought he looked amazing that day. His hair was nice and neat and his clothes were better looking than average. Sungjong really wanted to tell Hoya, as cause it was their last year in grade school.
Hoya and Sungjong sat on the swing sets together. Sungjong was looking at the floor, nervous, clenching the swings tightly. He doesn't know if he should tell him or not. What if he does, and he gets creeped out? What if he looses his only friend forever? What if....
" Hey Jongie... , " his train of thought was interrupted by the sudden of Hoya's voice. " Can i tell you something? "
"Sure , what is it? "
Hoya was looking at the floor. Sungjong was confused at his sudden change in behavior.
" Well, we've been friends for a while now ... , " his voice trembling a bit. " The thing is , is that I .... I kind of like you. Hehe. " he said .
Sungjong was shocked at the words he just heard. All he could think of is how now he knows that Hoya likes him. Now it would be easier for him to tell him too.
-silence-
" Jongie ? "
" Yah , sorry . "
" Are ... are you ok ? "
" Um ... yea I am . "
" I'm sorry if that was sudden, it's just that we've been friends for a long time, and i don't know why but ... " his voice got cut off by Sungjong .
" I like you too, Hoya. "
" You do? "
Sungjong nods.
"Then can i ask you this question .... ? " his voice is kind of shaky. " Will you ... um ... like to go out ? " his face glowing red .
Sungjong could only think of how happy this moment was for him. He gets off his seat and goes behind Hoya. He wraps his arms from behind him, and whispers in a soft voice, " Of course i would. "
That was how Sungjong and Hoya finally got together, and were dating through their last year in grade school and throughout summer vacation. But, something tragic happened.
