Prologue: This series showcases all the Fabrics from each state in India. Some could be something I could drape on or wear; and for some of the states it could be just a home décor item. It all depends what the state's fabric is. Hope you enjoy this journey to the colorful world of Indian Fabrics.
Next up is from a state from North India - Uttar Pradesh
Though this state of Uttar Pradesh is also famous for Banarsi fabric and sarees, the most sought after fabric is Chikankari. We get Sarees, Chudihars, Lehenga Choli, Skirts, and all matters of gowns and tops that are made in this fine material with intricate hand stitched design. It's delicate and intricate white-on-white embroidery on various kinds of fabrics, creates timeless and elegant garments.
The light texture and soft hue of colors with the trendy embellishments like sequins make them suitable for any occasion, be it casual or formal. Here I am wearing a Chudidhar made from soft material and beautiful chikankari work and accessorized with simple jewelry and bangles.
