Prologue: This series showcases all the Fabrics from each state in India. Some could be something I could drape on or wear; and for some of the states it could be just a home décor item. It all depends what the state's fabric is. Hope you enjoy this journey to the colorful world of Indian Fabrics.

Next up is from a state from South India - Tamil Nadu

Known as the queen of sarees, Kanjeevaram sarees are crafted from a traditionally woven silk, coming from the Tamil Nadu district of Thiruvannamalai. Featuring royal texture and glossy temperament vivid and luxuriant colored sarees define culture and nuances of South Indian ethnicity.

They frequently showcase motifs consisting of elements from nature such as moon, chariots, peacocks, parrots, swans, lions, coins, mangoes, leaves, jasmine bud, etc. No matter what occasion, these sarees give a regal glory to the person who is wearing celebrating their exquisite silk and elaborate zari work, epitomizing South Indian artistry and heritage.

I wore this approx 24 years old saree for an event last year when my youngest brother and his family visiting incidentally. Me and my SIL had a mini photoshoot when we were both decked in Silk Sarees. Paired my saree with a pearl necklace and earrings and color coordinating bangles on my wrists.
