Prologue: May 10th is National Small Business Day. One of those are these cute little mom and pop restaurants or locally owned cafes and dive-ins. This series brings forth those little nuggets of places that I visit for my meals.
My home town Hyderabad in India is filled with lots of fun joints for hanging out with friends and family and also enjoy yummy food. One such place that I visited with my cousins was XENA Kitchen and Brewery.
Verdictum: Certainly a spot filled with lively ambience, eclectic selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts along with some yummy mocktails. Definitely worth going.
And my cousins I went with.
Here are my 2 cents:
First Impressions:
1) Ambience is really lovely. We went in an afternoon, but still it was beautiful.
2) As mentioned the food had an eclectic collection; and so were the drinks, although we ordered mocktails. None of us drink alcohol but they serve their own brew of beer and head it is something one should try.
3) I loved the concoctions they created with food. For example this Bleu Cheese Roulade is a fancy version of Naan (Indian Bread) stuffed with Bleu Cheese and served inside a shot glass of Punjabi Curry. An idea I am going to steal for my next party. And check out the amazing soup served with a side of mini Samosas.
Amelioration:
1) Only downside was there was limited selection of mocktails. If only they can increase them. :)
