OMG!! 12yrs of Waiting, & I FINALLY Meet Bryan White!!!

Jun 16, 2007 20:48

Ok, so the way this started out...

I accidentally clicked on iLike on my Facebook, and saw that Bryan White was listed under my list of upcoming regional shows. So I clicked on it, and and found out he was coming to Winnipeg on June 15/07 at the Club Regent Casino. The next day I booked the night off work, and a few days after, bought myself a FRONT ROW TICKET to his show!! I was so SO psyched!! My dad even bought me a digital camera JUST so I could get pics of him...

Ok, I'll get back to my rant in a second...need to explain something...

My mom introduced me to Bryan White I was 10-11yrs old. I've loved his music ever since, and have every single one of his albums (including his brand-new 5-song Limited Edition EP "Out of the Storm"...I bought it from MusiCountry.com and it's AUTOGRAPHED!!). I've waited 12-13yrs for him to come to Winnipeg, so this is a VERY big deal for me!!

Ok, commencing concert rant...

So I got to the casino, killed pre-seating time by oggling their incredible salt-water aquarium, and then when I went to get seated, I was about to sit next to this one woman, when this guy across from her asked if I was on my own. Warily, I said yes, and he asked if he could trade seats with me (I later found her to be his fiancé). I agreed...and good thing I did! It gave me a better view of the stage, and better pictures!

The show commenced with "Sittin' On Go", and as the curtain opened, I was smiling ear to ear....and then Bryan looked RIGHT at me and smiled RIGHT at me!! OMG I almost died!! Got some REALLY great shots of him!!

When he started singing "Rebecca Lynn", instead of "grew up in Carolina", he replaced it with "grew up in Winnipeg". Cliché? Very. Charming and Adorable? Even more so!! Hell, even during a couple of ballads, he came down and grabbed my hand....TWICE!! Holy crap, I almost died...again...LOL.

All in all, it was an INCREDIBLE show. He even had a merch table set up for us fans so we could meet him and get autographs...again...I ALMOST DIED!! *lol*. I bought one of his t-shirts, 2 glossy pics (one was for a friend), a cup holder, and a keychain...got my glossies and 3 CD covers autographed...got my pic with both him and 2 with the band. Oh, and did I mention I got an AUTOGRAPHED SET LIST?? *grinz* Oh, and a guitar pic, too!

Holy shite, that had to be single-handedly THE BEST NIGHT I've EVER had in MY LIFE!! I called and ranted to my dad about how awesome the show was, and when I told him I met Bryan, he was shocked! The good kind of shock, mind you! He asked me if I got my pic with him, and my reply was a very enthusiastic, "Of course I did!". He was SO happy for me! He's known for a LONG time that I've wanted to see Bryan live in concert. If I were to die today, I'd die happy!!

Oh, and here's a funny story for you all...

Well, they're performing in Regina tonight, and earlier this afternoon, Bryan and his keyboardist decided to lunch at the restaurant where my mom is a waitress. My mom was cleaning up when they came in and Bryan picked up a fork for her that she had dropped.

When Bryan n his keyboardist were coming up to pay, she thought "he looks really familiar"...then he looked to the side to talk to his keyboardist, my mom said, "excuse me, but you're Bryan White, aren't you?"

Bryan, being the gentleman that he is, smiled and replied with, "why, yes I am"....my mom then proceeded to tell him how her daughter had just met him the previous night in Winnipeg, so he asked her to describe me. So my mom described me and told him my name, and he replied, "oh yeah! I remember her, we talked for a bit and I gave her a big hug, and signed one of my set lists for her!".

My mom then proceeded to tell him that I'm his biggest fan and that I've loved him since I was 10 or 11 years old, and that I have every album he ever came out with (which is true).  She then said to him, "How ironic is it that one night in Winnipeg you meet one of your biggest fans, and then come to Regina the next night and coincidentally meet her mother?"

He laughed and agree how odd that was, and that it doesn't happen that often. And before he left, he gave her a free pass to his show in Regina!

Holy shit....small friggen world, aye?

I have my pics of the show posted on my MySpace page, as well as on Facebook and PhotoBucket! Msg me if you wanna see them!

Enjoy! ^_^

Peace Out!

PS - I must give a major shout-out to Treasure, whom I met while standing in line to meet Bryan! We've swapped pics...and I found out she's been waiting as long as I have for Bryan to come to Winnipeg! Woo! I wasn't alone in my waiting!! ^_^
