K, enough of these little surveys...I'm gonna make an actual post...
Goddess, where do I start?? Been working for a company called Faneuil since the first week of March. It's not too shabby. I work on behalf of Telus, selling long distance packages, ADSL High Speed internet, and calling features. It's not too bad, except for the shit hours that are starting next week... 2:30pm-11pm... *twitch*. Methinks it be time to find a new DAYTIME job...I like leaving work when it's still daylight out, instead of riding my bike home when it's pitch dark outside. Doesn't help that my current choice of attire is mostly black. Bah.
Coworkers are uber awesome. I mean, how often do you find a job you like with co-workers you like AND management you like?? Don't happen too often, do it?? Hehe. My manager, Litt, is such a sweetie! And talk about adorable! ^_^ The man has energy that I would LOVE to have... **note to self: make attempt to siphon energy from boss**. The man has impeccable taste in clothing. And the man has impeccable taste in men, too... *giggle* ^_~. Yes, my boss has same-gender preferences. I don't care...he's still nice!!
What happened after I got my job wasn't too great tho'....
As most of you knew (at least I THINK I told you), my stepmother was sick for the longest time with cancer (breast, brain AND liver). In the difference of maybe two days her condition was downgraded...so instead of 3-4 weeks left, she had 2wks at the very most. Well, 2-3 days later, she passed on. December 12, 1955 - March 16, 2005. She was supposed to have turned 50 this year. That's far too young to die. She still could have...SHOULD have...had at LEAST another 30 years of life ahead of her, but the Powers That Be decided that it was her time to go. I have never seen my dad so upset. I actually called in and told them (work) I wouldn't be in the day of her funeral. My dad needed me with him. Today, my dad is doing infinitely better. He's reintegrating himself back into the dating scene, and even treated himself to a couple of nice things. One was a 2wk trip to Scotland (and he never took me with him...*grumble*); another was a new car....he traded in his Lincoln Continental for a 2002 candy-apple red Sebring convertible w/black ragtop; the last thing he just recently got (after getting his appropriate license) was a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster...yes it's a motorcycle...Daddy's a hardcore badboy now!! =P *lol* He even has a "special lady friend" now hehehe. So he's getting back on his feet quite nicely. And keeping fit at the same time!! =D
Over that period of time, I was seeing someone for a little while. I actually met him towards the end of December. It was a long-distance thing, but it still lasted longer than I thought it would. We were together for 4mths before we agreed that the distance was too hard, and that we'd be better off as friends. Still friends with him today. I'm actually yakking with him on MSN, so all is well. He lives in Quebec, and hot DAMN is he gorgeous!! He still wants to come out here, too!! Thats when me n my girly-friends drag him around Winnipeg, gorging him with good food! He won't want to leave....well, either that or he'll be too full to leave *lmao*.
Karaoke is still going strong! I've been told by a number of people (including my dad) that my singing has GREATLY improved over the last little while. I've even found a few new songs that I enjoy singing. One of them is by Joan Jett...yup, that's right... "I Love Rock & Roll". Been learning "Live A Lie" by Default (saw them in concert....omg are they ever hot up close! O_O), "White Flag" by Dido, "You and Me" by Lifehouse, and been brushing up on "One Way Or Another" by Blondie, as well as "Build Me Up, Buttercup" by The Foundations. One of my favourites to sing is "Here Without You" by 3 doors down. Wow...Heather became a social butterfly, too...odd...I'm usually not much of a people-person, but ever since I started going to karaoke, I've made a TON of new friends (which is the ONLY thing I'll ever have to admit thanking Mark for...). Wheeeeeee!!! ^_^
Speaking of concerts, I've probably been to....*thinks*....4 or 5 concerts since April. In order of concert appearances: Default (first concert this year @ Cowboy's...I got ditched by Phoebe at like 2am IN WINDSOR FUCKING PARK....had to call Dad to pick me up and bring me home), Good Charlotte ( MTS Centre w/Social Code & Day Of Contempt...they RULE! Met DoC, got one of them to sign my chest...I have the pic to prove it *lmao*), Billy Idol (@ MTS Centre w/Bif Naked...omg that was incredible....I actually saw the definition in Billy's abs... @_@ ...for a dude who's almost 50, he's damn hot!! And Bif mentioned proudly that she graduated from John Taylor Collegiate...and even did a cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"...bought "Superbeautifulmonster"...it was autographed...w00t!), BSB (@ MTS Centre...yes, I went...I like some of their stuff, and plus I hadn't seen them in concert since August 1998 @ Wpg Arena...wanted to see if they changed at all...had infinitely better seats this time around!), and just recently saw Hedley (@ West End Cultural Centre w/Faber opening the show...I liked them much better than Hedley (
http://www.faberband.com/ )...more personable, got to meet them all, and got a couple of hugs, a handshake, and TWO pics with the lead singer...w00h00!! Hedley is the band that Jacob Hogard sings for...he was on Canadian Idol, for those who remember). Coming up November 4 @ the Ramada Conference Centre I'll be attending the Social Code concert...already have my tix!! w00t!! For more info on SoCo:

This week I'm at my dad's place, because last Tuesday (Sept. 28) I had a massive anxiety attack at work and I had to go to the hospital for it. The result? I got this entire week off for stress leave. I'm enjoying this immensely. I get to relax, I don't have much to do (except the dishes when they need washing, and occasionally taking my dog out for a walk), and I get actual meals now instead of the piddly crap that I usually eat at home. It's nice to get out of my house and away from certain people *coughMARKcough* for a while. I'm back to work as of Oct. 12...2:30pm-11pm....methinks it's time for new employment, even tho' no one can match what they're paying me... >,<
In regards to my "love life" situation...I found a really nifty singles site that's completely FREE...messaging, emailing, signing up...ALL FREE!! Last week, I actually started talking to someone whom I find is rather intelligent, and very much NOT superficial...it's hard to find decent guys like that nowadays. Not to mention this guy is mega cute (he almost looks like Tom Cruise hehe). He & I wound up talking on the phone last night for a total of just over 4hrs. Heehee. He's such a sweetie. And HE did most of the talking, which is a nice change, considering I'M usually the one doing all the talking...*looks back at length of post*...ya, ya I know...shush! =P He's 21 w/the maturity of someone who should be 30, has his own house, his own car, works full-time for one of the largest internet pharmacies in the world (and he loves it), has 2 kitties, a pirhanna, and one helluva smile. Plus, he's a Taurus...a Capricorn's ideal love match hehehe. Coincidence? I think not! ^_~ He's s'posed to be calling me later tonight...he's gonna be working on his car for a bit beforehand, so it may not be 'til later on, like sometime between 6 & 8pm. Eeee!! ^_^ I soooo wanna meet this guy!! *gets giddy*
Hmmm, what else? Oh yes...
I was perusing thru some LiveJournals today...and I just want to wish the best of luck to Sean and Emma...you're perfect for each other. No, that's not saracasm. I really mean it! Good luck with your lives together! ^_^ And congrats on the new job, Sean. ^_^\\// Good to know things are going well for you. =)
Anyways, that should be it for me for now! OMG I feel winded now...LoL. Kidding! But that WAS an uber-long post...!
Cheers all! ^_~
