I have no idea how to tacle this. Like none...I got I have to choose on type and be inspired by it, but I'm totally confused by the types.

What is a Lady of the Lake?

We don't have a claim, so I imagine any fandom/stock is possible, but in the This is Spart do I have to use those caps? They are kind of weird and I'm familiar with one fandom there and that's it.

What are rumbles and lims?

Should I try and imitaded the first icons (the 20 set?)

I just have no idea...

The "types" are based off of the different types of icon challenge communities that exist on livejournal. For example, this community falls under the "20in20" type. LIMS (last icon maker standing) and rumbles are other types of challenge communities that exist. You do not need to know how these types of communities work, however. All you need to do is choose which option you'd like to complete, and make sure that you are only inspired by whatever section your chosen option points to.

If, for example, you chose to do 'THIS IS SPARTA' which is based off of communities like icon_battle, you are only allowed to use the inspirations in that section which includes but is not limited to the provided screencaps. If you were only inspired by the icons in that section and didn't use the screencaps at all, that would also be fine

Can we only be inspired by the textures and use other screencaps? I just want to clarify this before I do too many this way! :)

If I'll choose "THIS IS SPARTA" option, is that means I have to use only the provided caps and textures?

Provided for you are some caps, textures, interpretive themes, and icons from previous battles

Meaning that, if you chose 'THIS IS SPARTA" option, you can use anything listed under the 'THIS IS SPARTA' section which includes the words, the icons, the screencaps, and the textures. Hope that helps! :)

Hi! Since we didn't need to pick a claim, I guess this is a multifandom round, but wanted to ask about it just to be sure? :D

I would love to choose "This Is Sparta" and have to short questions:

1. Do I've to use everything in this category (words, icons, screencaps and textures) or can I just use - let's say - icons and textures?

2. Do I actually have to use the provided textures or can I just be inspired by them (colour, shape,...)?

You can use as many or few of the inspirations in your chosen section as you'd like. As for the second question - that is an interesting and new one! Hmm. I mean, obviously we can't stop you from doing whatever you want with your set, but if you're going to list a texture as an inspiration I'd prefer if you actually used it in your icon somewhere. :)
