the weekend past

It was nice to have an extended weekend but ironically we saw less of the kids!

On Friday morning, we left the house by 6.45am to hit the course with hubby's new golfing kaki and wife. If not for the fact that hubby had begged me to go along, i wouldn't have! I haven't played for a good 4 years since I was pregnant with Shannon, and didn't want to malu myself. I didn't even have a proper set of shoes and golves! Had to make a frantic last minute ride to parents place to borrow from my sis! Then dad frightened me by saying, better bring 2 sets of shoes in case the sole gives way for one since my sis also hasn't used hers for a while. But, what to do, the men have to men-talk so I had to go and "entertain" the wife. No choice. Thank goodness the weather was good, the course was ok and my game was good. Looks like it's going to be a regular morning exercise for us for weekends soon!

After an early lunch with the couple, we headed to Centrepoint for hubby to do his spot of shopping, for a gift for his buddy's bd celebration BBQ on Sat night. After that, we decided to drop off the golf stuff at inlaws place so that it won't clutter up our flat. By the time we got back to the kids, the whole day had passed. But I didn't feel guilty at all for not being with them, as I think I've got to this stage where I know that I've got to have time for myself and time-out from kids is a really good treat!

Saturday : Maid's off day, so we did some errands with the kids at Marina Square, our new haunt, and I had to go by Golf House to get a new pair of shoes and golves. Sis' shoes was ok, but she's a half size smaller than me (which explains why I don't share her treasure trove of shoes) so I had 2 spot blitters from Friday's game!!!!!
Settled the kids back in the afternoon and hubby and I went off to Suntec NUSSU Guildhouse (level 5) for the BBQ. As it was a wash-out due to the earlier rain, it was buffet style BBQ food instead. I was disappointed cos I was looking forward to bbqing at the terrace area.

Sunday : Made our way up early to church by 8.30am! This is our 2nd time back in church as we've mustered up the courage to get Shannon back into the ever-crowded Sunday school since she's got 2 classmates in the same sunday school (one is a boy who waits for her at the classroom door on weekdays and holds her hand to lead her into class, can you believe that! When she saw him at church sunday sch last week, the 2 of them just grinned at each other! This morning, they actually hugged each other too!!!!), and I also have 2 good friends' kids in the same sunday school, so it does make sense to re-orientate her back into the sunday sch.

Saw Serene's Matt who was such an attentive boy during the whole programme (it was a special easter programme not the usual sunday sch programme), and he was one of 2 kids who raised his hands to answer certain questions honestly! I just had to laugh out loud!!!!) Also saw Angelia's Aidan, if you're reading this, let me know, i'll tell you what happened during sunday school.

After church, we went to Great World City to grab some lunch, and grocery shop and new dress shoes for Shannon (goodness her feet grow so quickly).

NOW, It's pay back time for the good times of the weekend, as I'm catching up on work at this time of the night......... But all in, it was a good weekend. I feel especially rejuvenated for the past 2 weeks as I think going back to church helps. Hopefully once I settle Shann into sunday sch routine, I can take Lorraine in the cry room.

Thanks Popo3 for watching the kids for us this past weekend!
