[Ken's already clicked the feed on, but he hesitates for a moment before speaking, trying to compose his thoughts.

[He's not really sure on the protocol for situations like this. He's not even sure this counts as a situation. Dominic's a grown man and he can look after himself and it's not like it's unusual to go a while without hearing from him.

[... yeah, this'd be the problem with public network posts. Everyone gets 'em, and you're left wondering quite why you thought making one was a good idea.

[Because he still has no clue where Dominic is. Focus.]

I'm not sure. I just can't get a hold of him, and it's kinda...

Right. And this Dominic has...effectively gone missing, then. I haven't heard from him unfortunately, but I'm fairly sure there will have been someone round the club, don't you think?

I kinda think he must have done. He still doesn't seem to be home, and...

[Well, everyone comes home, don't they? And between the silence and the mailbox something about Dominic's place just doesn't look right.]

I guess you're right. Somebody must have seen him. Just because I haven't--

Exactly. So any time someone comes by, casually slide it into conversation, hm? Then you'll have your answer fairly quickly.

[Ken smiles slightly, though of course Draco can't see it - he's as likely to figure out what's happened at work as he is making network calls, and it didn't even occur to him. Stupid, really.]

He's gotta be somewhere. People don't just vanish.

[Except that here and now, with the gangs around? That's exactly what they do.]

I've never seen anyone vanish, at least. [a pause.] He's around here somewhere.

Oh, just interrogate everyone who walks by. People can ignore network calls.

So yes, you probably shouldn't have. Except then I wouldn't have been able to offer advice. Admittedly not overly important advice, but advice nonetheless.

[He's smiling again. At the phone, for all the good it'll do - but just talking to someone else, however briefly, makes him feel a little better and like this whole thing's solvable.]

[Raises? You probably need to have been working rather longer than Ken has to even think about stuff like that.

Course not but I meant at work, I'm due in tonight, unless I got mixed up when I was copying stuff... I've not got my shifts muddled again, right?

Oh. Well, yes, I'll be there. And you will too, so far as this schedule tells me. [because yes, he does have a copy of shift schedules on him at all times.] Besides, I think we'll be busy tonight - we'll need you on to take some of the stress off Desmond.

[Means I didn't get it wrong, then. Hang on, he had the schedule on him?

[Further proof, if proof was needed, that Ken simply could not do Draco's job. Because something like that would never occur to him even if he thought about it for hours and he isn't sure he wants the kind of job where you have to think like that, anyway...]
