Warnings: Angst. Lots of it. Based on a canon event that is never canonically described. Head canon in effect throughout.
Dream Effects: Confusion from the start, only intensifying as the dream progresses. A growing sense of helplessness, frustrated anger and sadness, and finally a near-overwhelming feeling of hopelessly misaimed guilt.

[Well. It was one thing for Ken to see something that would happen in the future; it was another entirely for Youji to see something that happened so far back into the past.

[His initial instinct was to ignore it, pretend he'd just missed this broadcast, but. He's thinking of how many mornings he's seen Ken and wondering how often he has this dream.]

[Ken isn't surprised that it's Youji; he's thankful it isn't anybody else. Even so, he hesitates for a while before answering, wiping his eyes roughly and taking three deep, shuddering breaths. Composing himself. It won't do for Youji to see him like this, no matter what he might have just inadvertently revealed to him.]

Everyone saw that, too, didn't they?

[While Ken is out getting his beer, Aya has snuck in and placed a little box by Ken's Dreamberry. Inside are six items. Five of them are loose Band-Aids. The names of the rest of them-- Sena, Youji, Omi, Ran, Aya-- are written across the backs.

The sixth item is an unsigned get well soon card with the following note.
