This new layout is even stranger than before!!!
Argh, change! Livejournal is so silly. I just miss the front page where I can see all the comments, now I feel like I might be missing new stuff. (Unlikely, who uses lj anymore, lol...?)
Over the weekend, Cat came up, so we celebrated with dinner at Babes, yummm. Chicken fried steak... I had to work Saturday morning, but I dropped by at downtown to go to the Asian festival (not as cool as the Crow Art Museum festival even though there were more dances and food trucks and booths???), then dinner at a delicious Korean chicken place with Chris and his friends and eat Yogurtland. Also super good! Sunday, I finished the tour of Carrollton with Pete's Cafe and then after dropping Cat off at the bus station, it was time for Comic-con in downtown Dallas at the convention center.
That was ridiculous. It was at least 3 times as big as the time I went at Comic-con at Irving; new place, new organizers, plus they managed to get the cast of Firefly and Star Trek Next Generation there for a reunion. I'm not a huge fan of meeting guests, so I didn't see them, I just browsed the dealer's room and artist alley. I bought a few art mags from some cute anime artists, a Gambit drinking glass and an Ezio doll.
Made me want to sell at a con again, not that my art was particularly better than the majority of the artists at the booths, but to this day, I still feel like if I had more energy, I could improve my art coloring a tad, and build up inventory and it would be passable, and I would not lose too much money buying the space to sell.
But I chose a different path, and I don't have that energy, I have just... broken dreams under my feet.
Got a Vietnamese professionals gala this weekend and A-kon coming up next weekend (way too soon, might I add.) Lots of being around lots of people, which I could do without, but what are ya gonna do? Humans are humans.
