God, I hate people...
I say this almost every night that I worked at Baylor as a computer lab consultant, telling people how to turn on their computers and how to print their powerpoints and pretty much doing their graphic design project for them and not showing any trace of pity when they forget to save their stuff in the right place.
egl continues to roll out the laughs for me. I posted about Gothic Sports, some German comic about gothic lolita soccer, plus the Eyeshield 21 reference to EGL, and some of them didn't get the humor inherent in that. Those bitches take EGL too seriously.
First off, EGL is a supremely ridiculous fashion. If you don't think that you look silly wearing it, there's something wrong with you. Secondly, all sports manga series are ridiculously wacky and wild. If you take sports manga seriously, there's *really* something wrong with you. There's no need to be catty and elitist about something as awesome as gothic lolita soccer. *eye roll ala Holly*
And then I was reading about teens popping prescription medicine like candy at "pill parties". I'm like... WINNERS FOR THE DARWIN AWARDS. Jesus Christ, I was not even half that stupid as a teenager and I was pretty darn ignorant. What are we feeding children nowadays to make them so stupid? "Hmm my grampa takes vicodin once every four hours, but I'm 1/4 his age, so I can take 4 of them plus a few more random pills all at once." WRONG.
I hope kids this stupid do die from overdosing. They don't need to grow up and have children and perpetuate their stupid genes. I'm not saying teens should never do wild and crazy things, that's just what kids do during adolescence, but stealing medicine from people who really do need pain killers or stimulants for their illnesses, just to get high/low/out and then risk death or permanent brain damage... (Well, even more permanent brain damage, hah hah.)
I don't know what to say. Whenever I read articles about how girls are emotionally damaged from looking at pictures of stick-thin models and then become anorexic, I'm thinking "Puh-lease, you are not giving teen girls enough credit." *eye roll* Not every girl is a piece of unthinking malleable fleshbag. Some girls have common sense and a clear perception of reality. If you treat girls as if they're stupid and can't think for themselves, then, yeah, they will probably believe they're stupid and can't think for themselves. Maybe instead of boo-hooing about our girls' precious self-esteem, you can fix the actual problem, I don't know.
I feel that feminism is self-defeating at times. I think the real problem is with men, not women. Women have always been strong throughout the history of mankind, they just weren't able to show it with all the men in the way.
When I take over the world, everything will be better. Heh heh heh...
