I brought my photo album to Iowa with me, just in case I get home sick or something. I was looking through it earlier, and found a picture of me in the fifth/sixth grade. My hair is all short and flipped out and I'm wearing a skirt my nana made. And my Abercrombie shirt that I cut up. and my mom's old pink converse.
So I started thinking about how I dressed in the sixth grade. I tried so hard to be preppy, because I figured that was just how you had to be. Thing is, my family didn't have much money, so I could only afford like, two abercrombie shirts. A green one, and the white one I cut up. Okay, so maybe I wasn't so good at the whole preppy thing. But I figured that cutting your clothes was just another thing that you were supposed to do.
I wish I could find my clothes from the fourth/fifth grade. I remember way back when I was in third/forth (look at all the /s) I went through this stage (that actually came back to hanut me) of being obsessed with black. I think it was because it made me feel older.
One of the best junior goth memories was my friend Brianna's tea party thing. They picked us up in a limo. Spice girls was playing, and they were all singing along. Everyone has seen that "White Girls" commercial, where they're in the car trying to sing along to Vanessa Carlton. Um, that was me. I don't remember what I listened to back then but it wasn't Spice Girls. Probably Britney Spears or something. And a little bit of what Joe listened to, mostly grunge and stuff.
So that was awkward. Then, when we got there, we changed into little frilly dresses. I reeeeally wanted the black and white one, but it was too big. So I was mad. They put me in a PEACH one. EW. PUKE PEACH. But we got to pick out our boas. Guess which color I picked? Haha, black and puke peach. I'm sure I looked like an idiot.
I have a picture of me with my so goth boa. I'll have to find it.
