Interesting debate. I understand what you mean, about people making money off of God's glory, but that's been going on since the church began. If you read a religion history book, you'll find that in the dark ages, the church would charge a penny for instant salvation. You know, pay us, and you're saved! What a deal. Then there are always those churches who condemn you from them unless you give up 10 or 20% of your salary each month. It's like they're saying that you have to pay for them (and God) to accept you. I guess what I'm saying is that with widespread practices like religion, people will always use it in different ways. It's interpereted differently by everyone, and some people will use it for profit, some will use it better their lives, some will follow it faithfully, and so on. I think it's very interesting that you brought that point up, how some Christian music groups seem like they're trying to be worship leaders. I'm definitely not trying to get into a debate about this since I don't know a whole lot about it, I'm just making observations. Take care, Neumie. I miss ya.
hmmm. i'd say we are suppose to give 10%. but it's suppose to be an outflow of the heart. for me it's not a matter of acceptance. i like to do it because Christ did so much more for me. it's just a matter of giving back to God what He gave to me. so yeah. i miss you too. and i'm glad we agree on this idea.
Well, I see what you were saying anyway. I'm going to keep my thoughts to myself. "Supposed to" give money is such an outrageous idea to me. I can't comprehend that. Requiring money (as some churches do, and I'm not saying yours does) is just ludicrous. Isn't a church supposed to accept someone no matter what they look like, act like, how much money they have, or how different they are? Again, I don't know much about this, I'm just observing.

no. i would argue that you know more than most christians. now, there is a difference between accepting, and commmending. for instance, there are many things that i don't aprove of with many people i am friends with. they know exactly where i stand, and that i believe it is wrong. but i still love them.
congrats stinny... you understand christianity better than most believers do.
Thanks. I think it's easier to understand from the outside, when it's not being preached in one's ears and drilled into one's head and controlling one's life. Plus, it's different on paper than in practice, I've found.
