Now, I'm not saying that George Galloway isn't a fairly manipulative politician, who has, in the past, kissed up to some pretty nasty dictators... (as

not relevant to the israel/hezbollah/lebanon problem, but george galloway went on Celebrity Big Brother here in the UK, and made a complete idiot of himself (link). he thought the rules of the show didn't apply to him and when he was disallowed from casting his own nominations as punishment he launched into a tirade attacking all the other housemates...
sometimes he has salient points to make, but he is up his own arse as well. he walks around like he is the only person that's gonna save the world from the right wing agenda. he swept out Oona King as MP of Bethnel Green and Bow, who was actually a very decent MP as far as Labour politicians go and is in no way a suck-up to Tony Blair (although admittedly in 2003 she was not opposed to the Iraq war), but just because it was the easiest place he could go to stir up a mainly Muslim community into voting for his "radical" new party. he made the election all about his opposition to Tony Blair and not about her ability as a hardworking local Member of Parliament (wikipedia link about oona king).
i'm as anti-israel in this conflict as anyone else, and Sky is part of the evil Murdoch Media Empire and anyone that stands up to them has got to be a good thing, but George Galloway cannot be held as an example to anyone.
I know about Galloway's excessiveness, arrogance, and lack of balance, but the fact is that the voters of Bethnal Green and Bow chose him as someone who would best represent them. If they change their mind, they can vote him out. Oona King is a fine politician, and I'm sure she'll find another constituency if she chooses to do so, or possibly run again in BG&B.
"George Galloway cannot be held as an example to anyone."
I didn't hold him up as an example, but I absolutely do believe that what he does is of value to Britain, and, indeed, to the entire world.
Why? Because none of the other leaders in your country are effectively standing up to the powers that be. Their silence is all too often deafening. That said, I wish that some of them were as public and as effective as Galloway has been at times.
