I have been sucked in...

I knew it would eventually happen. I fought it, the whole regular television viewing thing for years. My friends, family, coworkers would all conspire to get me to committ to some show or another but I simply sucked at remembering what show was on when. And really, I didn't mind. I enjoyed single serving television. It appealed to my media-commit-a-phobia.

Then I broke my leg and was laid up in the dead of winter with nothing but me and the television and its siren song just kept whittling away at me. Next thing I know I'm buying the DVD sets to CSI and dying for Season 6 to start. But how does the saying go? "Once the door is open to one, they all come rushing in." Or some such backwater philosophy.

Now I have a DVR, because I still suck when it comes to actually remembering to sit down and watch the shows when they are on, and it is full of programs. Damn devil box and its pretty, flashing pictures, sucking me in, making me dance like a crack addicted monkey jonesing for the next episode and scouring Best Buy for DVD box sets.

So, not only am I still a fan of CSI, even though I miss William Petersen and Jorja Fox and feel Paul Guilfoyle is being completely underused, but now my DVR is set for Bones, House, Fringe and Burn Notice. And I hide my head in shame when anyone mentions HULU.

I guess the first step is admitting I have a problem. So, hear it goes. My name is San and I'm a TV whore.
