Needing Some Security
So... I went to my leadership team training today for band. Anyways, toward the end of the meeting, Mr. West is like... and Field Commander is CJP and Derek is drill leader...
And... I don't know. I think I'm doubting my own ability more than anything, but Derek doing fundamentals with the band and me not, kind of makes me think that Mr. West is doubting my abilities to do the ob of F.C. and I know that's not what he means, but I feel like everyone wanted Derek to get FC while they were telling me that I would make a good FC... Then, I asked the question of what am I supposed to do the 1 1/2 that the band does fundamentals, and Mr. West wants me to march fundamentals, and I'm kind of thinking... "So, you want me to march fundamentals, when I've done them for 4 years, they're not going to help me, but you want to take away my practice time for my vocal commands." I know the first time I mess up a call on the field, I'm gonna get ragged about it, but I don't think it's very fair to expect me to do things perfectly and not let me practice it...
