WHY SO SERIOUS?
I just typed out a longish journal entry and then my fucking Internet Explorer decided to be a bitch and close on me...
Anyway...
New Obsession: The Joker!
I've seen Dark Knight twice since Thursday and have tentative plan to see it another 2 times at least over the next week... I'm obsessed!
I've never really been into the whole Batman things. I've seen most of the Batman movies I think but I never really have them a second thought once walking out of the cinema, but Dark Knight was brilliant!
It was all in Heath Ledger's performance however.
Christian Bale is ok. But his voice was sooo annoying, I wanted to cut his voice box out with The Joker's knife by the third appearance of Batman on screen. He seriously sounds as though he's been constipated for a week and is trying to squeeze on out! Other than his voice he's pretty good I guess.
The Joker though... WHAT A CHARACTER! Heath mastered this role, as he has mastered every role he's ever taken on, including that stupid movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Well it wasn't stupid but not exactly on par with most other movies he has been in... It is quite depressing to know we'll never again see his work again. I know he was half way through a film when he died but I am not sure he they are releasing it with him in it. Either way it's only one more film when he was only at the beginning of his career...
Anyway he definitely deserves a Posthomous Academy Award for his work as The Joker. To watch him play that character it's like he isn't acting at all, that he IS the Joker and I don't think there ever could be a better Joker now... I don't think there will ever be a better "villian".
The new X Files movie, "I Want To Believe" is out on Thursday, or Wednesday in some cinema's I believe. I am really looking forward to it and I hope I manage to become more obsessed with it, not that I am not already incredibly obsessed, I watched 3 or 4 episodes tonight, but I need it to over take my obsession with the Joker because at least with The X Files I know there is the possibility of seeing more in the future!
Other than working and going to the movies twice, I've not been up to a great deal. Had a friend over on Friday and watched DVD's. Candy and American Psycho. She seems to share my obsession slightly so we had a Heath and Christian Bale-a-thon...
I have a TAFE info day tomorrow hence my being awake at 2am. Normally I'd be at work. I am going in but just to drop stuff off I think and I'll go in after TAFE. I am kind of looking forward to it. Just looking forward to seeing some of the people I did my last course with who are going into this next one, and the fact I don't have to work... I really hope I like this next course though because I seriously have no idea what else I'd be interested in...
Meh I really should go to bed I guess...
I wish I didn't lose that other post, it was quite as boring as this one...
