Brrr, It's Cold Inside
It's been a bit of a while since I posted last. I unexpectedly had the afternoon off so I took the time to run a few errands and to update here.
Why do I have the afternoon off? Well, as the title says it's cold inside the lab today at work. There was a major leak in the heating system in the lab. Maintenance had to turn off the heat to find and fix the leak. They also turned the boilers off when they turned the heat off. So once they get it fixed it'll take an hour or so for the boilers to come back up to temp.
So with the heat off and the fume hoods dutifully drawing air out of the labs, cold outside air came flooding into the labs and offices. When they sent us home for the day, some of the labs were dropping below 50F and approaching 60 in some of the offices.
Hopefully things will be fixed and warm by morning. I hope so since I have samples that are due Wed and they need to go on the instrument Tue so that I can get the results and data entry done by the due date. ( I was setting up the instrument when I was informed that we were being sent home due to the "heat" situation).
Now to get to my chores areound the apartment.
