KC for the Holidays
Well, I'll be in KC for the Holidays. By my original plans I would be in Michigan now. However I'm here. You might say that I'm "snowed out". Michigan have had several snow storms come through in the last week. I checked on snow accumulation and across MI the snow totals for the last 7 days has been about 12-30". The east half of the state (such Mid-Michigan-Lansing and Detroit) had 10-16". The west side of the state had 15-30" with 20-30" along the Lake Michigan shore with one spot reporting 47". The Michigan UP was showing only about a foot or so over the last week. There is another storm that is supposed to coming in tonight, With all that snow, more snow coming, and bad weather from here to there last night and today my folks and I decided that it would probably be better to not drive up for Christmas. :-( So I'm here.
This is the first time have not been home for Christmas. I have missed a few Thanksgivings due to various reasons but I have always been able to make it home for Christmas. I have been invited over to a friend's house for Christmas dinner so I will still be able to celebrate Christmas, just with a different family.
At least we have some snow so it will be a white Christmas. That's always a big thing for me. Altough it doesn't look like we are going to have enough here to go sledding or do much other playing in the snow. This does give me some extra time to do my Christmas shopping and I can take advantage of the after-Christmas sales.
I have picked up a few things already for Christmas. I even picked up a couple things for Toto to give him tomorrow.
