I had almost forgotten this even existed.
The guy in charge of picking out what goes up on the big screen for Artimation told me after I submitted my little 20 second loop of motion studies that if I were to submit a final piece to the show I'd be gauranteed a spot on the final reel. That was pretty satisfying.
Trying to reach for something you're not entirely sure you can manage is the only way to progress in something, but looking back on it now, 4500+ drawings is a bit staggering. 15 drawings a second, 60 seconds in a minute. ~5 Minutes of animation that I for some reason refuse to recycle. I really want to finish this and I'm sure that it'll be good for me to finish and good for me to show people and progress my career and with a little luck snag a job at some animation house, but just thinking about it makes my head spin. Have you ever seen a stack of 4500 sheets of paper? It's pretty tall.
