9 weeks

I've decided to write this entire entry using dictation. Call me a geek, but I need to train this program somehow and this is a pretty good way to do it. Also, I can't be bothered to type everything and this is just as fast as typing on the new computer, maybe even faster.

Anyway, there are only nine weeks to go before my thesis is due!! This is slightly scary. Slightly? Okay very! I've gone through 16 files to find out which words are being recognised incorrectly the most. It is a long and arduous process. It is also quite boring. So far, I've noticed that the word "luncheonette" has been the word that is most often recognised incorrectly. It has been recognised 36 times out of 48 times, this does not include user errors. Meaning that "luncheonette" has only been correctly identified about three or four times! Also, the words "a 10" generally get recognised as "attend" 13 out of 16 times. It's also quite interesting to see just how many variations of the word "luncheonette" there are. I have been getting "lunch meat", "luncheon net", "luncheon eight", "luncheon at", "luncheon meant", "luncheon next", "luncheon need" and "luncheon and". However, luncheon net has been the most common one.
Anyway, moving along from uni work, work has been quite good this week. I finally got the designs in photoshop from New Telecom for the web site I am creating for them. The only problem with their designs are that they have used fonts that do not exist in the "normal" web. They've created their own. This is very annoying, because we can't use them. Also, the homepage they designed is in the wrong resolution. It's supposed to be in 800 x 600, but they have done it in 1024 x 1024 making it a square. So, I had to resize all the images so that I could fit them onto the web page.
The site is taking shape though, and it looks very good (if I do say so myself). Soon, I will have the content so that I can start to put all the pages together and get the site looking even better. When it's done, or I have a working prototype, I will put up a link so that people can have a look if they want. I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has to offer.
