Well, today I had to go to Centrelink and renew my health care card. I always hate doing this, it feels like almost once a month, even though it's not. The line was unusually short today, which was a good sign. Normally the line is meters long and you are waiting for an hour. I was only in line for about 10 minutes this time. A new record! I still don't know why they need to know how much I have in my bank account and in my term deposits to determine if I am a low income earner, when just providing the pay slips from the last 8 weeks should be enough. Oh well. Anyway, been doing my thesis writing, I think I have the methodology chapter downpacked, adding in all the reasons why I am doing what I am doing, providing examples and explaining the philosophical methods of inquiry to back it up and the Hermeneutics in it, and things like that. It all sounds really boring, I know, and you are right, it is boring. It would be much easier to say, "I am ding this because I find it interesting, blah blah" and not have to say that it is a Qualitative research method with a Interpterive philosophical assumption, a Grounded Theory method and a Hermeneutic mode of analysis and then explain why.
In other news, I went shopping on Monday with Beatie, and got a fair bit. I got 2 books, I had been looking for one of them for over a year, and didn't realise it had a part 2, and I found that too, so I got them both. I got a pair of jeans, which for me is a huge change. I never wear jeans, but these look nice, and are quite comfortable. Beatie has changed me, though, it's the only pair I have, and I don't think I'll get others. I also got a pair of trackies for doing yoga in, so that it's easier to stretch and all. I got 2 pairs of pants as well, I was in need of some more, and with all the sales that were on, I figured, I may as well get them. I also got two jacket-tops which are really nice and very comfortable and warm. I ended up spending a little over $100 in total, which for what I got was really good, considering, had they not been on sale, it would have cost around $300, so a huge saving.
Saturday night was a little get-together at Sarah and Glens place they are renting from Sarah's Dad I think. I caught up with a whole lot of people there which was good. We played Dance revolution and Singstar was is always much fun. I love it. Didn't make it a really late night, I was tired from working all day, although it was still 2am before I got to bed.
Friday night we went to Cosmo to see Nick's band. That was good too.
Last night I went out for dinner with Erin which was great. We went to Montezuma's in Parkdale. I had a voucher for a free meal upto the value of $20, and assumed they would take the most expensive meal off the bill - since none of us had anthing over $20 - but no, they take the cheepest meal off. We complained, and they decided to go halfway and give us the medium meal for free. How cheapskate is that!? We had to argue with them before they would do it. The meal was really nice though.
This Friday is Matthew's birthday at Sante in Crown, so that should be a good night too.
