In Which We Celebrate Sid's Nominal Irishness
I've been told I look classically Irish.
But then, I've also been told I look classically German, French, and Northern Italian, dependant on the lighting and my current hair color.
But mostly I get the Irish thing. I'm not sure what it is.
I appreciate my Irish heritage. All 1/8 (certain) to 3/8 (possible) of it. My people make a good beer, a smashing whiskey, and great music.
And it's great that there's this day, today, that celebrates them. But where's my German Day? I suppose I could celebrate Bastille Day for my French heritage, but then, my French ancestors left before the Revolution, then got their asses kicked out of Canada and into Louisiana, and aren't even French anymore but Cajun.
And is there a Probably Scots-Irish-Generically-British Day?
Basically, I'm looking for exuses to drink.
