day 1: introduction
My name is Tanya. I was named after a random black girl my parents met at a community pool and I like that. I also like to be called T, but hardly anyone calls me that. I don’t like what I do for a living and I’m working to change that. I’m working to change a lot of things.
I find it really concerning that people know more about Miley Cyrus and who got voted off Dancing with the Stars than about the oil spill in the Gulf. At the same time I’m horrified by the idea that the new American Idol panel is rumored to be Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, and Steven Tyler. It may sound hypocritical following my first statement, but any combination of those people make me want to stick a fork in my eye.

I’m sitting and drinking a coffee, eating a Clif bar. Do you know Clif bars are no better than a Snickers bar? I learned that in my Health and Wellness class. The last time I was in school was 2007. I’m going back in October. I don’t know how I feel about it.
