I can’t remember the last time I was so physically exhausted. I’ve felt like a walking zombie the for the last twenty-four hours and today is already seeming to start off on the same foot.
The theme of my life lately the last few weeks has been “GO”. I am simply always doing something; which in retrospect isn’t a horrible problem to have. Take this weekend for example (I apologize in advance if it sounds like a long run on sentence but that’s kind of what it was): Friday was Jesse’s birthday. After work we went to his place, barbecued and hung out until after midnight. Saturday we got up, went to the farmers market, ran a thousand errands for the next days activities, filled up the pool, and had people over for our own barbecue and fire. We went down to the park (we actually sat on the lawn of a sex toy shop across from the park which was overflowing) and watched the fireworks. Afterwards we had a bonfire that turned into quite the party including our friend Jesse getting naked and doing a belly flop off of my garage roof into the kiddie pool. That about sums up the absurdity of the night; that and the fact Katie had to put me to bed. Sunday we floated the Weber river. Now I’ve mentioned the good old Weber in the past; it’s not exactly white water rapids but it’s also not a lazy river by any means. It’s quite the feat, and always promises for a good time (this time proved no different). Afterwards we once again lit up the grill and everyone hung out till about midnight. Monday was supposed to be my “rest” day but somehow I ended up early making crepes following by cliff jumping. We stopped for dinner in PC on the way home and then watched bad TV with our friends for a few hours. Basically by the time I woke up on Tuesday morning and had to get back to reality, it was jarring.
Somehow even though I was struggling to not fall asleep before dinner, I don’t even think I legitmately fell asleep until about 1 am last night. It’s a cruel and ironic world folks.
