Ya know...the whole time I was growing up until now, I've always been made to believe that when you're really sick, you're "supposed to" sleep more. As much as you can, in fact. Take vitamins, wash your hands, etc. However, I have just been informed by my "all powerful and all-knowing" stepdad that it is "bad for you" to sleep more when you're sick. For example. I finally was able to breathe well enough to sleep at 645 this morning. So when you get to bed at that time and have nothing important to wake up for...around what time would YOU wake up? Most likely not until later in the day, correct? Oh, and did I mention that you hadn't slept for 30 hours prior to all this because everyone in your house has got the flu and they're all vomiting almost simultaneously...and you just can't seem to sleep because you have a life-altering phobia of vomit?? Then you are awakened at 4pm (mind you, after not sleeping for almost 2 days straight!!) by your loving stepfather, SCREAMING at the top of his lungs from the living room, asking how much longer you plan to sleep.
...Unfortunately, this is NOT a hypothetical situation. This is what's happened to me, within the last 2 days. Dealing with things such as these is what gets me just more and more excited about moving. Getting to live with a parent that believes if you sleep in, it's not because you're trying to piss him off. You're sleeping more because you must really need the sleep...crazy concept, no?
