that was rough.

tonight was Mr. Joe's wake.
it was an amazing turn out.
yet, it was quite emotional.
i didn't start to get really
emotional until Sara came sit by me.
but like she said, there's nothing
you can do about it.
we know he's in a better place.

Josh and Jake are amazing boys.
totally look up to them for how
they are handeling it.
and i'm sure they appreciated
each and every one of their
friends who came tonight.
shows a lot to them and to everyone.

it really got to me when I
saw my daddy standing up there
in honor, guarding Mr. Joe's ashes.
you know, being the chief and everything,
it's his duty.
but, the hardest part was at the end.
watching my daddy walk up in the middle of
all the other fire men as they stood there
honoring Mr. Joe and my daddy having the honor
to remove the ashes and walk down the isle.
yeah, i bawled like a little baby.

tomorrow is the funeral.
i hope it's as amazing
as tonight was.

to comfort me tonight and i'm glad
you saw i was hurting. it means a lot.
