Tablet Advice

Hello all! I know badkitty has/had a tablet before, but I didn't know if any of the rest of you have ever had a tablet. I've only heard of Wacom tablets. I would like to get some type of tablet to use when I make my wallpapers, icons, and edit artwork on the computer, since all I have at present is my mouse. Do you have any recommendations? I don't need

I was about to say Bamboo, too. I've used it before, and it's really inexpensive, yet Wacom (which is great).
I'd suggest if you're really not into digital drawing or painting, like, like a professional, you could enjoy it.
I had a Wacom tablet, costed about $60 and I was able to do things like this http://iitsyi.deviantart.com/art/JOHN-DARLING-13422426.
I think one "starter" tablet would do perfectly if what you want to do is wallpapers and random drawings.

uhm maybe I didn't explain well: I used the Bamboo tablets at school and work: my personal tablet (the one I used for the drawing I linked) was an ooolder model, and it sucked if compared to new ones!

So the Bamboo works just as well as any other Wacom tablet? I can't decide if I should opt for the refurbished Wacom or a Bamboo. When it comes to art on the computer, I would mostly use the tablet to make wallpapers, icons, banners, layouts, etc. and then I also like to touch up art that I colored by hand. (For example, I can make the whites of the eyes actually white, and can add accents and erase where the marker of the clothes bled onto the flesh.)

I think so. I used the plain Bamboo tablet to retouch photos, and it was good.

The "Bamboo FUN" seems to be specific to draw and paint, too.
