Damn I hate mondays. WEnt to school and did my chem lab. Then I knew it was gonna be nice for one day so I called into work. Fuck it I've been waiting to install shit on my car for a month but its been too cold.

So I grabbed my sideskirts and put the last layer of paint and 2 layers clearcoat on em. Hopefully them came out decent. Then I put in my shifter bushing which was MAD easy. Everyone said it would take like an hour...it was 10 min.

Then steering rack bushing...what a PITA! If I had to go back I could do it in 20 min but it was a bitch. I started by breaking one of the bolts that holds the steering rack bracket in place so I need to get a new one at the dealership tomorrow...and drill out the rest of the bolt. Damn thats gonna be a pain. I tried to put the bushing in backwards for like 40 min too so that didn't help. Once I got it right it was only like 20 min. At that point I had started to run outta light but I'm glad I finished everything. It took like 2.5 hrs for just the steering rack bushings.

Took it out for a ride and the steering is so much better now, as is the shifting. Steering had no more play and the steering feels a little heavier even though its not. Shifting has clearly defined gates now and is just much smoother and more precise. Woohoo. No sideskirts yet, but maybe next time its warm at the end of the week. These installs gave me some confidence though despite being a PITA. First they were both well worth it. Second, it makes me feel like I can take on somewhat difficult car maintenance. Something I've always wanted to be able to do.

I was gonna go to edge but by the time I was done it was already 6 and I don't think anyone else was going. I'm super sore too...working under a car sure creates some interesting angles.

Ahhh I can't wait to start doing more to the car! haha.
