Today was the final day in court for the foster childs release and charges. I was really hoping he would be released today with time served, turns out he was.
He had a prior charge also on underage intoxication, so they went ahead and charged him with all that the same time too since his court date for that was today.
So they release him with these agreements.
12 days in jail, good credit for day for day, time served,
He must pays court cost, $350.33 for both cases.
2 years probation. No guns, alcohol, drugs, traffic violations, random drug and alcohol testing,
40 hours community service,
Mental health counseling,
One Victim Impact Class,
He must either attend school or work to pay for his fines,
He must show back up for court on the 1st of march to show the courts how he is going to pay his court cost,
He is not to step foot in or on the school property.
He also has to attend a board meeting with the school on some day next week to determine weither or not they are going to expell him.. well duh.
So So now he's released, the sherrif tells me to pick him up in about half an hour and then go directly to the Probation office. I sent some money in there but he never got it till this morning. so now they have to write him a check, but it takes two people to sign it. so we have to wait.
I went over there and picked him up, he sighs, happy to be out of there.. he says boy do i have some stories to tell you. so we chit chat about the class x felons he was put in the same cell with as we drive to the probation office, I offer him a ciggerate and he smokes it like it's his first day, although he has always smoked like that.
We go in and they have him fill out a paper on his info. H don't know what our address is, he doesn't know what marshal status is. I tell him it's marital status and he should put single. he goes along reading aloud the questions and asks me for answers. I'm worried about this kid, so i tell him to remember the answers cause i'm not always gonna be there to give them to him. They take the paper, explain a few things and were out the door.
We need to pick up a couple applications, one for Him, Tracy and Larry, since i can copy it if it's a generic application, then we drive down to the wireless phone store and i have him pick up a couple for me. The other one is incase i mess up on the first one.
We determine that he's not gonna finish shcool but he's gonna get his GED along with Larry. he's also gonna have to get his licence. I asked him if he would like to learn how to drive the stick. He's like sure.. so we switched seats and on our way.. He takes off ok, but not sure how to regulate that gas pedal as he releases the clutch, so we take off a little fast. then we have to turn around a driveway, i teach him to brake a bit to make the turn, and when to clutch again so it don't die..but we come to a complete stop now and were facing a garage door and a trash can. and now we start again, I worry that were gonna hit one of them, but he does a little better this time.
now onto the street. he does ok but were still bucking a little bit heading out, i tell him to turn at the next turn and we head out to the country road.
he does ok. he's slow on shifting gears though. I only let him do about 30 miles an hour on this country road heading home.. It's all my heart can take at this time. so then i tell him to go ahead and move into 4th gear and were off doing 40. Trouble is, he isn't watching the road at the same time he's shifting so were heading for one side or the other of the road. 40 mph, thats fast enough, then we go thru a little town and i have him stop again.. and go, he kills it, i applaud and laugh. Clutch in, pull out slowly, add gas and were on our way. He don't do to bad but he's a little lead footed. we come to the highway, and i tell him i'll drive the rest of the way..
I have him call the county sherrifs office to see if the check is ready. they say it is and were off back into town, I also forgot to take my mom's movies back in so i have to do that too.
Were starving by now and stop at McDonalds and order off the dollar menu.
Drop off the movies and were on our way home...
I take a nap, sleep till 6, my kids came over, that just ruin's tracy's mood. I got up, got the kids washing dishes, and then made dinner.
He had been on the phone with his boss and sugested hiring on the two boys. so he sends applications thru the mail. I have to copy them and have the boys fill them out..
They have to get their licence tomorow, fill out the aplications then fax them in.
I can try all i want for this child, but Sharon Lancaster in Kincaid, IL was a very poor foster mother to him, as she was to many other children who lived in her home. Reguardless he was a troubled child to begin with, she made things much worse for the boy. She failed him the most.
So till tomorow..
