Pete hadn’t a clue what had happened. He remembered a gun shot and Ryan smiling, and falling and then all had gone black. Am I dead? He thought to himself, it certainly seemed that way. Bright colors streaked around the blackness, like a painter striking a canvas. He got up? He could see no ground but there was defiantly something under his feet. Everywhere was black apart from the lights that shimmered around the blackness. Like stars but multicolored pin points of light and the occasional streaks of bright light. He walked through the nothingness till he could walk no more. It wasn’t that he was tired; he just fell because he was bored and star gazed. He suddenly felt the need to look over to his left and he saw a purple I pod sitting on the ground next to him. He picked it up and turned it on.
Gerard was frantic and slightly lost. He knew the city pretty well but he didn’t really know the east side, where Ryan lived, he didn’t really venture over there normally so he was lost. He kept his head down and hoped no one recognized him but as he was walking past a group of young men with Tattoos spread all over their arms someone called out his name.
“Way? Yo Way!”
Gerard froze and turned, “What?”
“Gerard?” The person inquired, squinting to get a better look at Gerard.
“Jimmy?” Gerard turned getting distracted, and recognized the man addressing him.
“Gerard,” Jimmy hugged Gerard tightly, “Man, long time no see.”
“I know,” Gerard grinned at his old friend, “How are you, Jimmy?”
“Well, it’s the Rev now,” Jimmy or the rev smiled, at Gerard.
“You’re a revered?” Gerard asked in astonishment.
The group behind Jimmy laughed.
“It’s his stage name.”
Relief spread over Gerard’s features, “Man, I could never picture in a church.”
The rev grinned, “Yeah me neither. Gerard, you remember Matt, right?”
“Yeah! Matt, how are you man?” Gerard walked over and hugged the man tightly, “Or do you have stage name too?”
“Yeah it’s M.Shadows, but you can still call me Matt, I don’t mind, not like Syn here,” smirking he turned to one of the others. The man walked out of the shadows to revel himself, “Yeah, Way, Its Synster or nothing.”
Gerard chuckled, “Hey Brian, where’s Johnny and Zacky?”
“They couldn’t make it hunting tonight,” Jimmy explained, “But dude come lets go back and talk its not safe around her anymore,” He looked nervously around then added, “Not since the dandies took over.”
Gerard’s eyes widened, “Here too? Shit, we are in trouble look, I can’t come. I’m looking for someone.”
Jimmy looked at him curiously, “What kind of someone?”
“Ryan Ross.”
“Ryan, aye, I know that kid,” Matt said thoughtfully, “He lives around the corner third door on the right. I just saw Pete Wentz head that way not five minutes ago.”
“Shit! I need to go!” Gerard swore, remembering why he’d come in the first place, “Here,” he wrote down his number, “Contact me, okay?”
“Yeah…” and before Matt could say much else let alone accept the small piece of paper Gerard was gone, it fluttered to the ground and Matt bent to pick it up and shrugging he turned back to his friends.
Gerard burst through Ryan’s door half a minute too late. He found Pete in the living room unconscious on the floor and Ryan standing over him talking on a cell phone.
“Yeah, yeah, I know, I did it. Calm down Brendon,” He had his back to Gerard, so Gerard saw the moment and took it. Creeping up behind Ryan he grabbed Ryan’s wrists and pushed him against the wall. Ryan yelped in surprise and dropped the phone.
“Ryan…”
“Gerard,” Ryan said in surprise, “What are you-”
Gerard smacked Ryan’s head against the wall and he slid to the floor unconscious. Gerard spat at Ryan’s lifeless body, and turned to Pete. Pete’s eyes were closed and he was breathing unevenly. Gerard checked his pulse, it was deathly slow. Shit, he swore quietly to himself. Pulling out his cell he phoned Mikey.
“Hello?” Mikey answered after 3 rings.
“I found Pete,” Gerard said grimly, holding Pete’s cold hand In his.
“Really? Is he okay?”
“Not really. Look, I’m going to carry Pete home, I need you to come and collect Ryan. Put him in one of the cells, Okay?”
“Sure,” Mikey hung up.
Gerard gave Mikey Ryan’s address and scooped up Pete in his arms, taking one last glance at Ryan he sped off into the night.
Pete was losing blood far too fast, even for vampire. The funny thing was that he wasn’t healing fast enough. Gerard barely made back to base.
“Andy!! ANDY!!” Gerard called out and sprinted to the kitchen where he laid Pete down on the table, “Andy?!?”
“Chill, I’m here,” the vegan drummer said from the door, noticing Pete he hurried to Gerard’s side, “Shit, what happened?”
“Ryan shot him,”
Andy checked Pete’s wound, “Shit, Okay, I need a bowl of warm water and my medical kit.”
Once Gerard got them, Andy set to work first cleaning Pete’s wound then extracting the bullet.
“Eww,” Gerard shuddered as Andy pulled out the little piece of metal that had been previously lodged in Pete’s chest, “That’s disgusting.”
“What?” Andy said not looking up from what he was doing.
“Blood freaks me out a little bit,” Gerard admitted.
Even at a time like this Andy could not repress a smile, “What kind of vampire lord are you?”
“A vegetarian,” Gerard said proudly.
“Okay, shit, Gerard, This bullet is coated with holy water and something else, but I’m not sure what. Anyways, this could be fatal. Here,” he placed the bullet in Gerard’s hand, “Take this down to Greta, she’ll know what to do.”
Gerard winced as Andy gave him the bullet but headed towards the basement without any complaints.
Greta Salpeter was 14 when she got attacked. She was walking home from the bookstore, delighted after buying the new Harry Potter book. Hugging it to her chest she smiled, a smile full of untainted sunshine. Then she notices someone coming toward her. The girl had black hair that reached to her shoulder and was grinning creepily at Greta. Greta quickened her pace and tried not to make eye contact but the girl grabbed her by the shoulder.
“Hey, there,” She smirked, “My name’s Cristina.”
“Erm, yeah, hi,” Greta ducked her head and tried to get away but Cristina grabbed her arm.
“What’s your name?”
“Greta,” Greta whispered.
Then Cristina leaned in so she was right up beside Greta’s ear.
“I know.”
Greta panicked, and tried to walk away, but Cristina pulled her rather forcefully toward a black car sitting in the car. Greta struggled but Cristina looked at her with her brown, almost black, eyes and Greta was under. She obediently followed Cristina and slid into the passengers seat, quietly. Cristina pulled up outside of a club and pulled Greta into the midst of all the people. Grinding slightly violently up to her Cristina pulled Greta into a kiss.
“A drink?” She asked sweetly and handed Greta a glass from nowhere. Downing it, Greta felt a little more bold and pulled Cristina into a kiss.
“Hmm, the guys are gonna be very pleased with you,” Cristina said through kisses and Greta got pulled away from her by a group of men. They pulled her into an alleyway and Greta dropped the glass on her toe, the impact brought Greta out of her trance. She trys to bolt but the men pull her closer and one of them leans in grinning like a madman.
“Just a taste, sweetie..”
And with that he sunk his fangs into her neck, she screamed and screamed until Gerard had heard her. She still doesn’t remember much. Dancing blurs and faded screams, a voice in her ear, calming her and carrying her home.
