this is the most intellegent conversation i had in two weeks. i figured that i must post it
explodingparis: well...Im done with that movie
Wounded Thorns: woot
explodingparis: I have no position on the 9/11 conspiracy
Wounded Thorns: lol
Wounded Thorns: its safer to just say "terrorists did it" b/c the whole govt thing complicates thing and almost stripes you of your innocence.
explodingparis: yea
Wounded Thorns: but at the same time we're not naive enough to do that
explodingparis: you're right
Wounded Thorns: woot
explodingparis: if Im in doubt when it comes to the government..I usually look at what the founders had to say. and in this case I think James Madison had a pretty good understanding "If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."
Wounded Thorns: aye
Wounded Thorns: i think its very naive for americans to completely believe the government b/c they haven't led lives like europeans who were endlessly manipulated and lied to by the government. they can't even imagine such a thought b/c all they think of is the extremes of hitler
explodingparis: exactly...its never happened here.
Wounded Thorns: yeh
Wounded Thorns: america is still a young country
explodingparis: 230 years
Wounded Thorns: so when something like that watergate scandel happens, americans are shocked and disgusted but in truth it wasn't even that bad of a situation when compared to others in history
explodingparis: I'll agree with you on that.
explodingparis: I think people of this country have lost their way. back in the early national period, government was seen as the number one enemy. but nowadays, its nearly you're friend
Wounded Thorns: i mean its not as bad as royality chopping off their families' heads to succeed towards the throne
Wounded Thorns: aye
Wounded Thorns: its one of those things that will never be perfect and will never satisfy everyone
Wounded Thorns: welcome to real life
explodingparis: exactly
explodingparis: which is why the founders gave us the second amendment. to overthrow a corrupt government
Wounded Thorns: but alas, the many loopholes of the government.
Wounded Thorns: after bush was re-elected i concluded that its pointless to get yourself all worked over politics b/c that's all you're doing - getting worked up and yelling over something that has always been corrupted.
explodingparis: I think its grown corrupt over time. It needs to be changed
Wounded Thorns: yeh but its the same as going to the middle east and saying "your morals need to change. the sexes are equal, and stop handing guns to kids"
explodingparis: true...there's never gonna be a politician who's gonna change the status quo
Wounded Thorns: nope
Wounded Thorns: plus the common american himself isn't exactly the martyr for revolution
explodingparis: hahah...true. except the true patriots
Wounded Thorns: and those are scary
explodingparis: yea
Wounded Thorns: wyndham hills is full of them
Wounded Thorns: they don't like me
explodingparis: aww but you're so darned cute...
