I went out today and bought a twenty-five dollar iTunes gift card with intention of buying Daniel Diges' self titled album. When I was unable to find it through the American store I went to the artist's website, clicked on the "View In iTunes" button and received a notification in my iTunes that while the album was not available in the American store it was in the Spanish and if I'd like to be taken to the page. I say yes, find the button in which to buy the album and am informed that I am not authorized to buy albums from any store but the American, which this particular album is not available in.
So. Is there a way I can buy the album I went and gave twenty five dollars of my own money so I could support the artist or not? If not, may I offer a very long lecture in the practice of keeping people's music purchasing options limited to what's available in this country.
