more awesome news!! =)
so i got a call from my navy recruiter today, and he told me about a new educational program that has just been established. it's called college first. and it literally just came out like...today....
i was hoping to complete a full year at valencia before i went to basic training. but, i was only able to do a semester at first because of the bright futures drama, plus a few other roadblocks i had hit with my grandma being really sick and all that. but...now since i have bright futures which pays 100% of community college tuition, i'm not worried about the college expenses. and my grandma is finally out of the hospital!!
so my plan as of yesterday was to complete just one semester, and start basic training sometime in the spring. however with this new navy program, i will be able to do a full year at home, which i am so excited about!! =)
with the new program, i do the initial physical and processing (9 days from now woo!!), and once all that's completed and i have my military ID, i will get $450 a month for being a full-time college student! and i don't even have a real job. lol =)
also, with the military ID, i can take a few CLEP exams too...which normally cost $65 but military members take them free. technically, i can get enough credits for an AA degree in just one year of college...but sorry, i'm not quite THAT ambitious! lol
things just seem to be going SO well right now....*knock on wood*
i love you guys! time to go to the grocery store. woo! haha =)
