harford county is a hotbed of excitement right now, I've got to tell you. not only is the farm fair in town (oh yeah, that's right: mud, cow shit and pig races), but today we had a tornado roll through. and of course I was working at rita's. do they have a basement? no. a place away from windows? no. any protection whatsoever? uh, no. yes, it would be so like my life to end in a pool of blood, shattered glass, tree branches and rita's freaking ice.
on friday I finally saw a sports therapist about my ankles. turns out my heel cords are too short and my hamstrings are too weak to properly support my ankles while jogging, so the ligaments around my ankle are inflamed and upset. at the same time, a combination of crappy shoes and doing too much too quickly broke down all the fatty tissue that's meant to pad my heels, so the actual bone is pretty much striking the ground every time I walk. I have medications and a list of stretches that should help over time, but... bummer. once again, it's so like my life to turn on me and make me hurt the second I actually start trying to do something healthy.
I'm bemused, altogether. the bad stuff will pass, and the rest is funny. seriously, my life is so, so strange.
