The 5th of November... Watched V for Vendetta again last night, I really like that movie. Its probably the most thought provoking super hero flcik out there. Tonight's game with Auburn was ugly, but i don't think it'll break Gator spirits going into UGA next week. Things have been odd the last week as a lot of them have changed. Anthony is finally officially moved in to our apartment. This was source of much stress recently as we scrambled to get his place subelased before Nov came around, but hopefully its over and done with and its clear sailing from here. Did a bit of sword fighting today, sparred with Anthony. He's had soem training in Bushido, abnd we sparred using Shinai (2 handed bamboo swords). I am less than proficient with two-handers, but i was not disappointed with my performance. He's got a lot more control, and all of his movements are calculated. I do a whole lot more on the fly, it sort of comes as instinct. Between fencing and broad sword training my style would best be described as unpredictable. We traded a lot of good hits, initially I was using way more power than him, being used to much more lethal sparring with Kopf backed it off but not in time to save his quite damaged finger. I took a nice hit in my thumb bruised up pretty good. Japanese sword fighting seems much more an art form to me than Western stuff I've done. I'm still not wholly sold on its superiority in combat, but it does look nice. Hopefully I'll make it home in the next few weeks and get a few of my weapons up here. Possibly planning a camping trip around my bday currently destination scounting. Anyone with a good place to camp that I can drive to in 8 hours or less let me know. Trying for something mountainous, if possible.
