Hey guys, wanna smoke a joint with me? We'll go on a trip, in more ways than one.
Now that I have your attention...
Princess Nehema goes to a new town, and is intrigued by what appears to be a murder.
I call it right now; anyone who wears swirly-eye glasses who isn't meant to be quirky comic relief is evil. Unless their name is Loid. Loid is a cutie.
"So don't waste it on drugs! D.A.R.E. TO RESIST DRUGS AND VIOLENCE!"
Let's marvel the wonders of Ancient Egypt outside the desert.
Shachipanda means "Killer Panda," and the flag shows the name isn't just for show. Does this guy even have eyes? Or are they just empty sockets? D:
Great, now I've even got villagers telling me to burn in hell.
By the time you're reading this, I'm funding my own cube for my town. :D
Why are there so many grates here? They make me think of icky things, like sewage and Pennywise and dead bodies.
Someone left their shoes out here. Never a good sign.
A stump with a bunny-shaped pattern?
Translation: "Sis...ter... is... ang...ry..."
Supposedly, this town is inhabited by two sisters, Iroha and Yami. I'm guessing this is Iroha?
We're going to see Chrissy and Francine a lot, which leads to a lot of questions regarding their background. Some say they're actually humans who dress like bunnies. If this is so, why?
Is Francine dead? I hope not.
Translation: "The darkness... it's... taking over..."
CULPRIT! He could actually be talking about how his wife and Yami (or his wife and the darkness, since yami = Japanese word for darkness. SYMBOLISM!) are calling him. Who knows. But what's certain is this man is a creeper and I don't like him.
See what I mean? G-U-I-L-T-Y.
Medicine, my ass. Those are totally meth packets.
Looks like this leads to a secret chamber. What will we find here?
POT. LOTS AND LOTS OF POT. AND EVERY KIND OF DRUG YOU CAN THINK OF.
Is this what Bells look like when they're out of their bags? There's so many mysteries in the AC world.
Why is there a wet suit in the back? Was he was rummaging through the trash when the police caught him?
NO. NOOOOO. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Dear god, my ears are ringing, ghdskjghdskjghksg
NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS
NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS

I'm going to hide under this giant tooth for a while. *hedgehog hiss*
A nice walk in the park. It's okay, Puri, it's all right...
Hypno K.K. was in the bag. Not really effective if you can't listen to it or hang it up anywhere.
This man is evil. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
There's something off about these blue roses being in the middle of a blue violet garden.
Hey, you're from Aika Village! What's with the bloody shirt?
Gladys has really disturbing eyes when she's surprised, but I haven't managed to get a good cap of it. I feel sorry that she probably got murdered though, since she's really sweet in spite of her scary appearance.
That's putting it lightly.
Why do you have a bee in your house? :/
I think I activated a geyser with my shovel! :D
Anyone else thinks this looks a bit like a coffin?
That was pointless.
Leading the way to the next person's house...
Translation: "These are my dreams and memories."
O HAI HOMURA. O wait, no you're not. You must be Yami.
When I first got here, I was under the impression that Bunny Girl (Iroha?) and Not!Moemura were the same person. I'll explain later...
AAAAAAAAAAAA MY EYES MY EARS MY EVERYTHING
I can't even turn off the theramins this time, and
K.K. Oasis makes the spinning rainbow wheels (and the whole room, for that matter) even more dizzying. The distorted pictures of the girl remind me the hell out of the scene in "Black Swan" where Nina hallucinates the paintings coming to life.
Whew, glad to get out of there. Looks like Yami/Iroha's mom caught her smoking and/or doing drugs, and now they're in a fight, as evidenced by the howloid in the back.
Another pink room, but less nauseating. I wish I could figure out the pattern on this pillow. Cherries?
Things I've Missed: There's a photo of the dead girl above the vanity with a suspicious glare, like she's watching me rummage through her things.
Clearly this represented simpler, more innocent times.
The villain's secret hub! The sign is supposed to be a list of things he wants to collect.
Lots of priceless collectibles here. Dolls, vases... and a nutcracker. Blegh.
I hope to god the tiger doesn't represent that he's a poacher too, and/or buys illegal furs. D:
I can't remember if this phonograph played anything or not. Curses.
O SNAP
If Hypno K.K. is to Aika like K.K. Parade is to Hitokui, then K.K. Oasis is to Shachipanda. The song is practically everywhere in this house.
Annnnnnd we found the decapitated heads of Yami/Iroha and her mom. The murderer may or may not have cut off their faces and hung them on the bathroom above them. *shudder*
And it's not going to get better.
Ohhhhhhh dear.
I actually had to look up a guide to find the black wet suit, because it didn't occur to me to dig behind the trash can. How is it that I found Aika's wet suit without a guide, but not Shachipanda's? I have no idea how my brain works. "Wise men say the brain is a terrible thing to waste" indeed.
Yami/Iroha's glasses are here. D: And more drugs.
And that is where the killer stuffed her body, headless or not. Since there's no skeletons, this implies the body's still fresh. D:
Finally, we get to the theories:
#1: Yami and Iroha are the Same Person
They're just so drastically different that they have to be portrayed as separate women. "Yami" is Iroha's second/current identity. The girl in the pigtails and glasses is who Iroha used to be, while the girl in the bunny suit is who Iroha had become. Which may or may not be related to...
#2: Black Swan & Perfect Blue, With Drugs!
Yami/Iroha wanted to be a famous pop star (or is a famous pop star who decides to become an actress, like Mima in Perfect Blue. Even the girl on all the posters
looks like her), and has completely changed herself in order to do so. As the result of trauma and/or pressure from home (Creepy Glasses Guy the Drug-Dealer may or may not be her dad, Mom could be a Beloved Smother like Mrs. Sayers in Black Swan), she has developed a form of schizophrenia and/or dissociative personality disorder, and/or suffers horrific hallucinations from the drugs she's taking.
#3: All I Ever Wanted Was to Be a Star
Yami/Iroha was clearly infatuated with Chrissy and Francine and wanted to become a pop star. So she changed her name, ditched her glasses, and got into showbiz. She got wrapped up in every celebrity scandal one could think of, including being suckered into the world of drugs and possibly prostitution (thanks to Creepy Glasses Guy). Now drugs are her only way to cope with the stress, and one day, an overdose led her to a grisly demise... or so the newspaper says anyway. Yami/Iroha's mom may have tried to intervene, and Creepy Glasses Guy ended up finding and killing them both.
#4: Chrissy & Francine's Tragic Past
Yami & Iroha are actually Chrissy and Francine, and they lived in a horrible and toxic environment. One day, one of the sisters had a violent hallucination where they were both beheaded by Creepy Glasses Guy, so they decided to hop on the first train out of Shachipanda and start their lives over completely clean. While they were being hospitalized for withdrawal, they were frightened of being stalked by Creepy Glasses Guy and/or the rest of their family, so they put on costumes and pretended they were rabbits. The sisters made an oath; they were going to be pop stars together. So if you've got Chrissy and/or Francine in your town and find this theory credible, give them both humongous hugs and let them know that they're safe in your town and nothing will hurt them ever again. ;;
#5: Requiem for a Dream
As suggested by a playthrough on Youtube, the family inhabiting Shachipanda actually used to be a normal family with a normal shop. Then drugs got into their lives and literally slashed them apart.
Assuming any of the theories except #4 happened, I got rid of the drug bags and watered the flowers around her grave to pay my respects.
And I eat delicious cake. Nomnomnom. Whether or not it was laced with narcotics doesn't matter, 'cause this is just a dream. ;D
With that, we've covered the top three visited horror towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf! *boogie dance!* The next several towns should be more obscure, then after that, we'll dive into entirely new territory! 'Cause there's a growing number of horror towns that deserve a good visit. :D
Next Episode: Aniville
