Okakuzu de ai ga michiru by Yakou Hana and illlustrated by Masara Minase is one of those utterly conventional stories that made me laugh every time it fulfilled a cliche of this type of story. It just doesn't betray expectations, so a person who likes this kind of story will just eat it up. I am not one of those people, but I still derived some entertainment from this. XD

Uke is an owner of a small coffee shop that's actually a converted garage of his house. He inherited it from his parents after they died in an accident, so he quit his job to run it. He has episodes of great violence (lots of breaking of plates and stuff), totally uncontrollable. He has a part-timer college student who is patient with him (and his episodes) and is so obviously after his ass. I think it takes a while before the two hook up, it's one those one guy is putting the other guy to bed after too much drinking and things just happen from there situations. The seme (and the reader) learns during the sex that uke has obviously had sex with men before. They are presented as a "sort of cute couple" for a while, and then the bad shit starts to happen. A reporter visits the uke to let him know that a certain someone has gotten out of jail. I don't remember exactly what happens, but the seme eventually finds out that the uke had a sister who had been stalked. She was eventually kidnapped by the stalker, confined and raped and cut and finally killed. The uke and his parents had to move after that, because of all the talk about the case around them. But when the uke receives a call from the ex-stalker, he remembers that in fact he had been the victim and had made up a sister who had all the crap done to her to protect himself. He had been sleeping around with random men back then (when he'd first figured out that he was gay), and one of them followed him home and started to stalk him. At first he'd given in to the stalker and slept with him, but then he tried to break things off and got his parents to help him out (he didn't tell them about how he actually first met his stalker).Of course, after the kidnapping his previous behavior came out and his parents were not happy. Some comment they made traumatized him and made him think he was worthless. In any case, he wants to kill the ex-stalker, but ex-stalker finds out uke has a boyfriend and decides that he needs to get rid of the boyfriend and teach the uke that he belongs to ex-stalker. He does attack the seme in the uke's home, but uke defends the seme by stabbing the ex-stalker. He is filled with lots of angsty emotion (partly stemming, I think, from the fact that he hadn't enlightened the seme that he'd been the victim instead of a made-up sister), and thinking he'd killed his rapist, decides he needs to end his life. He goes to a beach that he'd gone to with seme back in the "sort of cute couple" stage and tries to drown himself. Of course, seme comes to the rescue. He tells uke that the ex-stalker hadn't died (and thus uke is not a murderer) and....I think they have healing sex? I don't remember and I really don't feel like going back and checking. I think the I got the basic idea of the story right...

One of the reviews on amazon japan mentions that the storyline is ripped straight from My Sweet Audrina by V.C. Andrews...I do remembe rthere was a made-up sister to displace her trauma, but I thought that book was more fucked up? I wish Yakou Hana had ripped all of the twistedness, because that'd be so much more cool instead of the reliable shining hero seme that brings healing sex and comfort to the traumatized repressed victim. The only part I thought was fun in this book was the fact that the traumatized repressed victim's trauma was expressed through uncontrollable fits of anger and violence instead of something more inward like not being able to be touched or something.
