I keep wanting to doze, so I'm playing rock songs to keep me awake. XD; When I first came down, I played Figure .09 by Linkin Park. Chester's screaming usually wakes me up pretty quick. Heh heh.
I got to sing in The Messiah on Sunday! I thought I wasn't going to be able to because I'd missed some of the rehearsals from being sick and even now I've been occassionally coughing. But after singing the hymns at church and seeming to do alright, I started to think maybe I could still be in the performance. Mom encouraged me to still go, so I did and made it in time for the final rehearsal that came immediately prior to the actual performance. We were only doing selections and not the entire program, but still it was awesome.
And I've got more of my Christmas shopping done. We went out to Bountiful and went to a lot of places there. I'm so happy! ^___^ And I was able to get one of the things my dad really wanted. It was a more expensive book, but I was able to get a 30% discount because the back cover was damaged. I don't know what's happening today, but Wednesday I'm going caroling. I'm still hoping I can get out shopping again to find the other thing I wanted for somebody. . . .
I wasn't able to resist buying some sheet music for myself when we went to the music store in Bountiful. XD; Turn me loose in a sheet music store and I'm bound to buy something. Today it was Love, Me by Collin Raye (a bittersweet little country tune) and two Josh Groban songs: You're Still You (which reminds me of Rishid to Marik during Battle City, minus the lines indicating the person in the song is in love with the person he's singing about/to, of course XD;) and the song he did for the movie Troy, called Remember. It's so purty! I've never heard the song or seen the movie, but when I read the lyrics, I knew I wouldn't be leaving the store without that song. I like Josh Groban's music, but I'm not one of the clinging, swooning fangirls, like so many of his fans seem to be. XD
Oh yeah! I've received presents from Lisa and Birdee. I'm really excited with them. Birdee actually made a bookmark with the Ishtars and she used that sweet quote from Ishizu where she says, "We are not only from the same tribe, but we are family as well." ^O^ I hope I can find what Birdee wants. I still haven't been able to. I've gotten a little something for Lisa, as well as for Lizzie and Stacey and JP. Elora says she doesn't want anything, but I was going to send her a card. I need to hurry and get stuff mailed. XD; And I need to figure out what I can give to SK and Aubrie.
I also finished that Ghosts in the Night fic I've been working on feverishly. I'm glad I decided to make it a double songfic. The effect was nice. ^__^ Now back to concentrating on the mystery fic! Anyone got a suggestion for something that could happen to Pegasus that would render him unable to call Industrial Illusions in order to have them send up some important research? XD; I want them to make Alister call and use his Pegasus imitation to get the information released.
I found name information for him, by the way! There was this great name book at Fred Meyer and it said that "Alister" is the Scottish variation of "Alexander." Hence, it carries a similar meaning to the name Alexander, of course, which means something like "defender of mankind." I am glad they didn't give Alister a cheesy-sounding Scottish accent, like Mr. Match on Megaman. XD;
And I was in an RP with Lizzie the other day and I randomly typed that Alister was watching a couple of the young characters' puppy love romance and remembering a childhood friend that he'd had a crush on. She got killed in the war, along with his family. I was wondering what to name this possible character if I ever wanted Alister to talk about her in a fic or an RP and instantly the name "Holly" came to me. XD And I knew I'd be using it. The idea of Alister having had a close childhood friend who was a girl is cute to me. And no, she is not a Mary Sue. ;) Mary Sues are evil. I imagine Holly to have been a tomboy and that Miruko liked her too. ^^ I have this scene in my mind of Alister being horrified over her death and then having to tell Miruko that she was killed when he asks.
