Logan sat on the window ledge thinking. Nothing went right today. He kept tripping at rehersals, couldn't hit his notes, and couldn't even focus on homework.
As he stares out the window, he remembers doing the same thing back in Minnesota anytime he was lost. The only difference is the LA lights outshining the stars.
"How did things get so messed up? What did I do wrong?" he asks himself.
He pulls his knees to his chest and lets out a heavy sigh. He sits in silence until a set of lyrics enter his mind.
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now, wish right now.
He chuckles to himself. Back in Minnesota he would make wishes on shooting stars, rare as they are, at least he could still see them. It is not until that particular moment that he wishes the lyrics are true.
In the distance he hears the sound of airplanes entering and leaving LAX airspace. Hoping against hope, he closes his eyes and makes a wish.
Bzzz! Bzzz! The sound of his phone vibrating on his nightstand jostles him back to reality. He stands and opens his phone to see a text message.
'We need to talk.'
He glances at the name and the corner of his mouth twitches slightly.
"This is it," he says to himself.
Taking a deep breath, he responds to the message.
'Alright. Meet me in the lobby.'
