Snap shot of life today

So as always when I don't post my life continues on despite the lack of daily broadcasted episodes... I'd like to say the writer in me has been on strike but truly it's been laziness.

My father went into surgery last week to remove a cancerous lump. Everything went well. Thank God. He's doing very well. It was early stages cancer so the situation couldn't have been any more in our favor. He's recovering beautifully. I drove down Wednesday night/ Thursday morning. It was a good trip. I reconnected with my parents. I got to know Jimmy, Sarah's husband, better and he's not a bad guy, a little too southern for my taste but not a bad guy.

While I was visiting I talked each member of my family into taking the Myers Brigg inventory, I figured that there have been enough personality conflicts it may help us understand the other person better. I thought it was very helpful. Each individual personality description made sense for that person. It also explained why they do the things they do.... next time I go down to visit I just have to schedule sensitivity training... Ha! like that would happen.  I was amused by the fact that my mother and Joe have the same personality type, which may explain why they don't get along.

So today I have the day off, and although I had a half day yesterday I successfully avoided all house work and anything that required any sort of initiative - I slept most of the day and watched movies. It was a fantastic way to spend the day. Today I don't think I will be so successful at avoiding responsibilities. The gym can’t be avoided. I probably should clean the house a little, at least a token effort to prove to Joe that some where inside of me is a little bit of domestic sense; not that he would be able to tell by these past two weeks.

Anyway- on to more productive things

~Chris
