I know what I'm doing next year. I'm going to be a chemE at Merck doing materials characterization work. I made the decision not under the best circumstances (seeing that grad school has a habit of being slow in life), but there is a definite bent there toward people going for PhDs and getting supported quite handsomely throughout it. The good: I'm living close to all sorts of good things (New York, much of my family, and much of the area that I am familiar with). The bad: I'm living in New Jersey, a stone's throw from Staten Island. High cost of living, high car insurance, and, well, New Jersey jokes. Seeing that I've already been picked up, does that mean I can't be classified as a Jersey girl? (insert the t-shirt slogan here)
I'm going to do a poster presentation at a conference next week in Ventura, CA! State College>New York>Philadelphia>LA>Conference>LA>Philadelphia>State College. Yum...all I need is a laptop now.
Thesis is coming along. Attempting to fix the figures and do a last few experiments. Does anyone else a specialized program for plotting at PSU? Excel isn't quite cutting it, and, to my dismay, neither is Matlab. Do want comments here.
BioEs are awesome. They are awesome not only because of the ridiculous bar tour but because they like volleyball too. Yay!
Syringes, syringes, syringes. My bioE design group and I are designing something to stop stupid people from mixing insulin in vials. This group seems reasonably competent and also pretty willing to hold meetings at a bar once in a while :-P
Technoclassica=a genre that really should not exist yet. Still, I envy the composer's alias, UltraMax. This is either really narcissistic or really cool.
