Well things in my life seem a little more settled. My first three weeks in Chicago, though starting off really well, didnt turn out to hot. I had a few set backs, but I think I am going to bounce back pretty well.
First off, I got the new position with City Year. I will be starting Monday and honestly it couldnt start soon enough. For one thing, their are financial reasons, but most importantly it is something to do than just randomly walk around city parks or looking for work. Oy!
Last week I took advantage of non-alcholic/non-game events for the Gay Games, which Chicago was hosting this year. It is how I found the Gay Jewish congregation in Chicago, which was a nice surprise and it is becoming my first real group in the city (though I am not going this Friday, woops).
From what I have heard City Year acts like a community network within itself and its members become really close to one another. SO that is exciting. I can always stand more friends, I mean I can never have to many, I am a little social butterfly.
Its weird who I have been reconnecting with in this city. I love it.
Other than that, I have been moving stuff into the apartment in Oak Park, housesitting in Andersonville (the other gayborhood), and discovering random events around the city including movie night in Grant Park. Its enough to keep me out of trouble.
