SPAMALOT

This past week has been a very busy one for me and Juan. Well and everyone else too, but I'll just talk about us.

On Tuesday we went and saw The Shadow Box, in the downstage. It was directed by a grad student and it was... it was clearly directed with a very firm hand that gave it sharp edges but often seemed to make the actors seem cardboard-ish.

On Wednesday we went and saw Monty Python's Spamalot in Cincy. It was a LOT of fun, very hilarious, and it had some really great songs. I want to own the soundtrack now.

Yesterday, while I was at work there was an accident in Millville that knocked out power to the entire city of Oxford, OH for a bit more than two hours. After I got off work my roomates, Mike, Nicole's husband Matt who is visiting this weekend, Juan, and I decided to partake in some looting and pillaging, but High Street had regained its power so we ended up at a bar just drinking a little and schmoozing.

Tomorrow Juan and I both work pretty much all day due to this being parent's weekend, the weekend when the parent's descend upon the town like God's own curse. Yea verily they shall come and descend upon the land and there shall be activities and much shopping, and the parents shall giveth unto their children much money and they shall purchaseth them sweaters and other school paraphenalia from the local bookstores and they shall feedeth themselves at local restaurants, and thus shall this weekend be far too busy and far to crowded for those who are sane to venture forth from their homes. So shall it be written, so shall it be done.

I think the scheduling of Parent's weekend for Halloween weekend is a poor attempt to get students to not party as much. Myself, I don't think it's going to work so well. We'll see.

Juan and I finally came up with costume ideas. I'll post pictures when/if they are taken. I like the idea, we'll see how it plays out.
