Day 3 Guatemala en La Antigua!!
Today was my favorite day so far!!! An amazing day off to go tour la Antigua with the whole cast.
Margaret and I went next door and got coffees and ran into Josue (el pollo) and talked for a little bit! He was so sweet and down to earth.
Once we wandered back to the hotel we met up with the boys and ballet dancers and crammed into the bus to la Antigua!
We literally did not stop laughing the whole day. WHEN WE FIRST GOT THERE WE SAW AN ACTIVE VOLCANO SPEWING ASH. Had a lovely breakfast at a pretty hotel, chatted with susana and shared croissants, fresh oj and coffee. Then we made our way to the Mercado! I got globeish candles and small dolls for car and chris, a wooden angel for my mom, and a chicken potholder for Jesse lol. Once outside we also picked up a jade necklace for emilia from a street vendor.
We made our way to a beautiful church and had many photo shoots along the way. We all stuffed into a door for one, for another we climbed rocks atop the church, another we got red clay all over our hands, and last but not least, atop a statue where I placed my hand directly into a load of pigeon doo. Thankfully alex had hand sanitizer. 🙌
Last stop was for a drink at this pretty garden. Jonathon and I looked for cool birds but just found dumb brown and black ones. I cracked up when alex and mike played their tribal flutes so badly and when Margaret wanted a sip of Susana's horchata but susana refused, and then finished the whole thing!!
We had a sleepy bus ride back (except for when I opposite birthed alex when the driver slammed on the brakes) and went across the street again for tacos. This time it was a LOT better and we had a blast with the French boys. They sang a song when I finished my beer!
We went back to the hotel bar and got a nightcap with the boys and ballet dancers. We tried to teach Margaret how to use chopsticks and cracked up about stupid stuff and got to see lots of French booties twerking to Spanish hip hop ❤️
Margaret and I spent a long time posting all of our wonderful pics to our group DFP Guatever 2017 and now I'm awake doing this when I should be asleep because we're off to Quetzeltenango tomorrow in less than 6 hours!! 😩😩 AU REVIOR
